This is a pretty interesting stat I've never thought about before:

Bobby, Donnie Allison - 2
Tim and Bob Flock - 2

I was pretty surprised to learn that was the first time they've ever finished 1-2 in the cup series.

Surprised to hear that as well, shocked they didn't do it years ago honestly. Overall this weekend has had some awesome racing for sure in all forms of motorsport. Heard the K&N West race was pretty good as well.

I actually preferred NBC/TNT's coverage to FOX. That being said, here's hoping NBC doesn't have the Nationwide JOONYER update.

I'm currently working on photos from today's ARCA race at Winchester. I have a few up already and I may get some more before I go to bed, but they should be up at least by tomorrow:

One cool thing I got to do this morning was participate in an R/C car race with a couple ARCA drivers, the ARCA chaplain and NASCAR CWTS driver Spencer Gallagher. Josh Williams won both races by 3 laps, but in race #2 I ended up second!

Here's a photo, I'm 2nd from left (in the blue Conrail train shirt, obviously), with ARCA Chaplain Caleb on my right and driver Will Kimmel on my left. I could get some momentum going but then I'd get spun. It was fun though.
Spoiler:

wow I would have thought that they'd done it when Busch was with Penske or Roush but not so

Edit: no denying Busch is good enough to get a victory with the equipment he has, but I think its not right that one can miss 11 races and still make the Chase

BTW, anybody looking forward to NBC either is too young to remember, or didn't watch their previous attempts.

Orrrr has been watching their motorsports coverage the last few years (since they took over VERSUS and the IndyCar deal) and know that it won't be too bad. Even their previous run from 2001-2006 wasn't bad. There were questionable moments but every broadcaster will have them.

From a production side, NBC is almost up to the same level as CBS when it comes to sports. They have a commentary group that has potential. All the pieces are in place for a good second half of the season TV-wise.

The only real fault I found with NBC from the last package was the idiotic decision to put Bill fuckin Weber in as the play by play guy.

Jeff did you get to ask Spencer Gallagher if he's ever heard of TBK?

I didn't get to talk to him. (Is there something there I'm missing?) The only "TV" people I talked to yesterday was Jim Tretow and fellow TBKer ChasKrall who was working the pits.

I think so. His Wiki page says he currently is "an illusionist" lol

I forgot about ChasKrall. Spencer was a big poster on the Something Awful Sports NASCAR forum. I think two or three years ago he had an in car cam and put an SAS sticker on the headrest. I'm not sure if he went to other forums though but he's a really cool guy even if people are suspect on how he got his rides. I doubt he ever heard of this place but he does take part in other forums.

It wouldn't surprise me if Spencer was a member here in that case. There's a lot of motorsports stuff here, after all. I've been told there's a former Cup champ (a recent one) who's also a member here. Can't confirm it since they've never posted and I don't know their username.

I noticed Rick wasn't saying his famous "PRAHBLEMS" the last year or so he was doing trucks...hope he brings it back. I'm one of the few who thought he should be a Cup broadcaster years ago...with the chill vibes of Letarte and Burton I hope he keeps it from being a monotone broadcast.

I would prefer more broadcasters to handle sports broadcasts, and less experts who cannot give a concise expert opinion.
Not just in NASCAR.
Not just in racing.
But in all sports.
