Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it was Steven "selective blindness" Wallace who caused it. It's just amazing it took this long. At least we know the 500 will have a big one.

I think that's only the second time the Canadian Tire Series champ has made it past 40 laps in this race, so second works.

Way to go Jason Bowles! Was rooting for him all night so great to see him take the win amongst all the craziness going on.

And credit where credits due, Pastrana actually did a pretty good job for his debut. Course a lot of that was from everyone else wrecking, but he did bring it back in (mostly) one piece. Still coulda done without the overdone hype

They sure tried to give him DANICA-style coverage, but not quite.

There's a lot of people saying Pastrana should be going Nationwide racing right away. Maybe it goes back to that stupid fans thing in the other thread...

Yeah, the coverage was TP-heavy but I really think he did a great job. And I'm not saying that because of his finishing position or his wreck avoidance. But if you had the TV on mute and just watched the way the 99 car was being driven, you'd never have known he was doing this for the first time. He drove hard but he didn't overdrive. He didn't wreck anyone, and he wasn't slow by any means. If he wants to be out there, he belongs out there. Maybe he'll be good, maybe he wont. But it sure seems like he has a very solid grasp of the basics.

It's too early for him to be hitting the bigger tracks, but I do think they could go ahead and put him in some of the Nationwide short track races in a couple months.

Perhaps they could get him in a few Arca races.

Pastrana should run some Truck Series races, too. Kind of the same thing that Ricky Carmichael is doing in his transition to stock cars.

Lets get him a race somewhere other than Irwindale (which is probably one of the easier tracks to make a debut on) before we get him in a Truck.
