Must be the worst ROTY in history :yuk: Real shame Keselowski wasn't eligible to compete this year...

But then they'll have to sell those parts to their rivals.

Raced in 28 of 36 races.
One top 25 finish.
Zero top 30 starts.

Just another example in a long list of what's wrong with today's NASCAR. I still think it would've been funny if we could've trolled the Most Popular Driver Award by voting him in.

I'll let you in on a dirty little secret:

Stock car racing as a whole is fucked up, from Sprint Cup to the majority of pavement local tracks around the country. There's enough ego, stupidity, politics, incompatibility and ass-kissing out there to sink the whole damn lot of it.

Find me a series or a track, and I'll find you someone hanging on for dear life.

I'm sure you can find that in other sports as well.

Apart from the fact that Johnson won, it was a very good season, you have to admit it.

If football was as screwed as pavement racing, then there'd be issues from Pop Warner to HS to NCAA to the NFL, all the way through.

Car counts, sponsorship cash and fan numbers are dwindling across the board, and yet all everyone in a position of power wants to do is eat their own, to save their own asses at the expense of others. It's corny to say there's a circle of life to stockcar racing, but everything seems to be connected to where slumps in one area affect all areas.

Other sports still have much more legitimacy and competition than stock car racing. The big 3 NASCAR divisions get watered down for entertainment, and from ARCA down it's becoming solely about who's got the biggest checks.

When I combine the good things that happened, with the bad things that have happened... it all feels very neutral, if not still on the below average scale to me.

I'm going to take a break for a while before I start getting too delusional and obnoxious though. I'm getting into knee jerk posting.

There were some good parts to it, tho. Speedweeks was virtually flawless and the two Talladega races were the best Talladega races I had ever seen.

There was some decent racing, but it got lost in the shuffle.

If I had to choose between the two Talladega races, I'd put the spring race ahead of the fall race. Largely because of the record number of lead changes and the photo finish.

all of the 'decent' racing this season was lost to me by all the things that royally pissed me off (carl, the chase, etc etc...)

just a whole lotta arf. plus, the busch series sucked this season.

BUT, i will be back next feb, glued to my tv, imagining all of the great things that wont happen.

Sadly, that's why NASCAR don't give a shit. Die hard fans will still tune in every sunday and why wouldn't they. It's their passion.

Regardless of all the nagatives, I must admit that this season was a step in the right direction for NASCAR. I enjoyed it much more than the previous 5 years.
