That's a long distance for that debris to cover. :o

Well, that's a bit unnerving 8O

As a Harvick fan, I'd love to agree with that point, but you have to factor in everything when considering it. Yes, he's been the best over the course of this season as a whole, but you also must consider the way teams race. Certainly things would be different (possibly very much so) if teams raced with a 36-race season in mind.

Nice, but you'd prefer it without the artificiality

So you would rather Harvick have a 300 point lead with 2 to go. BORING!!!!

I agree. We should just reset the points for the top 43 cars at Homestead and it could be even CLOSER!!!!!!

Yes, I would, because that's real. That's the correct way to decide a champion in motorsport. Best performance over an entire season, rather over some special ten-race stretch that renders the first 26 races meaningless.

This is the most correct post in the history of the entire internet. But then again we all know this is a fact, but we also all know NASCAR will never change it.

If they did an Internet vote then 4chan would troll it and we'd end up with Morgan Shepherd, Carl Long, Derek Cope and Kevin Lepage fighting for the title. :p

Nah, they'll probably rig the vote so that Casey Mears becomes Cup champion.

Even as a Kyle fan, have to say that was just wrong. You can flip off and insult your co-workers but you would never flip off your employers (before anyone says it, I realize JGR are his employers but they are kept in business because of NASCAR so they become the employer).

I was thinking the same, Paul. I get the feeling NASCAR was upset because it was caught live from his onboard.

That's what I think it is. Also, I thought NASCAR had that 5-10 sec delay or whatever to prevent those things?

What Chris said.

I know for the newer followers of the sport, it might be hard to imagine that a 36-race chase to the title can be more exciting and more frantic than a 10-race playoff. But... how? Instead of being worried something might go wrong in ten races, you have 36 races where anything can happen, and in the past, always seemed to happen without trying. Instead of natural excitement, we get something that's manufactured... kinda like the fake breasts post some time earlier on in this thread.

Sure, some stank up the show some years, but when it was close (and it was close quite often), it felt more authentic. No asterisks needed, either.

My two cents, even though I'm sure I'm just stating the obvious.
