I was at the Nationwide Series race at Gateway yesterday. I ended up learning something as a result. I figured out why there are so many Tri and Quad-Oval tracks in existance all over the country. I was sitting about 1/3 of the way up the grandstand on the front stretch just past the start finish line. I couldn't see the exit of turn 4 at all and it was hard to make out the cars coming past on the front stretch because they were so close to the wall. On the tri and quad-ovals the fans can see the cars better because they aren't running as close to the outside wall. The racing itself was pretty good even though there were 9 start and parks in the first 25 laps of the race. Jeremy Clements' finish surprised me but his performance backed it up. He was easily in the top 20 the entire race.
