I am convinced this is why racetrack and TV attendance is down. The first three championships were fine and the fourth (still annoying) was historic, but its the same crap year after year. Couple that with the issues of Dale Jr., and interest is going to wane.

I think the Chase might also have a thing or two to do with it. Plus, the action on the track's not as good, ticket prices are ridiculous for an economy that's tanked, traffic sucks at a lot of races, and the like. Rather than watch NASCAR, I'll gladly watch football, or UFC fighting (which I would have kept watching had those asshats on ESPN not spoiled the result on their front page), or the IndyCars, if they were still running.

Is it Talladega time yet?
