Everyone knew Jimmie was going to win, even ESPN, going into commercials with 11 laps to go. :yuk:

Oh wait, they usually do that.

Good God that was a horrible race, with a horrible winner to cap it off. :yuk:

So underwhelmed by this race that I'm not that bothered Johnson won. And I only watched from the last caution onwards

I honestly don't know what to suggest. He's just too damn good. Unbearably smug but a very talented racing driver

I've gone past the point of not wanting him to win the title. I'd rather him than Denny or Earl now. And I'm sure you all remember my reaction at Sonoma...

I apologise if this is too rational for a NASCAR race thread

Isn't the most exciting time in any sport supposed to be the playoffs? If that is the case, then NASCAR has to change something.

I'm going to enroll Kenseth into Dover Green Flag Pitstops 101.

When you rarely have a good car anymore, it's important to get a good result from it.

I'm pretty happy I missed this one. I'm looking more forward to the TBKOC Daytona 500 than next week's race.

One nice thing was watching AJ Allmendinger run strong.

Sadly AJ faded and JJ took over...

But don't blame Dover!

Fucks sake this race started with such promise. AJ dominates and Truex runs 2nd-3rd the for almost the first half. And what happens? AJ gets a flat and Truex looses an axle. And naturally its Johnson to gain from all that. I swear this race started with the most potential in a while to yield a feel good winner story, at the very least since Reutimann won, but NASCAR just has to fall into predictability during the chase with the usual suspect of winners. God that pisses me off. Really its all up to chance in this case, but its really frustrating nonetheless.

Honestly I would have thrown a party if the 43 won again. At least it shows that the team is really in the right direction. Ill be extremely surprised if AJ doesnt win next season at the latest, hes really come into his own in the series and RPM should be a lot more competitive with just a 2 car team.

The only thing I watched from this race was the Star Spangled Banner execution with Jessie James and despite her misunderstandings with some flags at the begining, she executed the anthem with beautiful majesty. I later switched channel because brazilian football championship was far more interesting LOL. But I loved Jessie, didn't know her, wish we could bring that cute little thing to sing Star Spangled Banner in next years Sao Paulo Indy 300... :p

Sounds like this was one to miss... Glad I was at dirt track instead.

If you're sick and tired of NASCAR nonsense, don't bother watching. Go to your local short track instead.

I've always thought the problem with the Chase is that it has included basically the same 10 races at the same 10 tracks in the same order year after year. Yawnson wins it every year, not because he's the bestest fastest driver in NASCARs, but simply because he's "figured out" how to knock out these 10 races with more points than anyone else.

In the past several years, I think we've seen teams "hold out" in the early part of the season, figuring they will get into the chase regardless. Once the chase begins, the best cars, the best engines, and the best testing data come out. Yawnson just figured out how to game the system better than the other drivers.

Just put add a half-mile dirt track , 2 road courses and a third race at Daytona to wrap up the season.
