The debut of Trucks at Pocono and the triumphant return ofImageat Iowa highlight an otherwise lackluster Pocono weekend.

Cup @ Pocono Entry List (45 cars) (Sunday 1pm ET on ESPN)
Nationwide @ Iowa Entry List (47 cars) (Saturday 7:30pm ET on ESPN2)
Trucks @ Pocono Entry List (38 trucks) (Saturday 1pm ET on SPEED)
ARCA @ Pocono Entry List (41 cars) (Saturday 3pm ET on SPEED)

In other words, don't watch it when the X Games is on. But you can tune into the Iowa NW race if you want to see JWT fuck up again.

Looking forward to the truck/ARCA double header. Garage and pit passes ftw!

Probably'll miss the Cup race, what with me being out of town right now.

So how am I posting on TBK, ah, the magic of business offices in rather well-equipped hotels...

Truck race will be the best race ever held at Pocono.

Why?

Because it's only 50 laps. By the time you fall asleep it will be over! YAY

Tomorrow at 10AM, and yes, it will more or less what the nationwide cars do at the road courses these days.

Far as ARCA goes, it looks like it wont be a complete runaway based on practice speeds at this point. Instead of the fastest car being almost a second faster in practice like the June race, this time 7 cars are within a second of each other. For this track Id call it an accomplishment.

Hearing that Dave Burns will replace Vince Welch for the Nationwide telecast. Vince Welch was in a car accident but is okay.

Tony Stewart on the pole? Did someone divide by zero as well?

I can't believe how much faster the top 2 in qualifying were compared to everybody else. Hopefully Juan can have a decent run to make up for a disappointing Indy finish.
Also, hopefully after the truck race Nascar will take notice and maybe lower the length of the Cup races there for next year. 1,000 miles at Pocono within 2 months is awful. A 350-miler there would be plenty.

I like that Pocono is still old-school enough to run 500 milers. People seem to ignore the fact that NASCAR races are supposed to have an endurance factor built in, for the drivers and the cars. Of course NASCAR f-ed that up at this track with the gear rules, but it still cool to see these guys and cars go 500 miles. If it is too boring for you... dont watch! :)

Elliott Sadler won the pole for the truck race with Kasey Kahne starting along side.

Looks like they got the qualifying done in record time with this method. It'll probably be in Nationwide and Cup soon as it can prevent a lot of rainouts.

Kind of weird watching Kasey and Elliott battle while not driving for the same team.
