It's qualifying day here in Charlotte for World Finals, this being the season finale weekend for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Cars, World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Models & the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds. The points chase is extremely tight in 2 of the 3 series. Donny Schatz and Brad Sweet have a 8 point gap as the come into this weekend for the Sprint Cars, and Matt Sheppard leads by 6 over Mat Williamson. As long as Brandon Sheppard starts this weekend, he will clinch the Late Model title.

Coverage of this weekend's races will be on DIRTvision.com & DIRT on DIRT - with all 3 series on both Sprint Car & Late Model Fast Pass subscriptions. FloRacing will also have coverage of the Big Block Modifieds.

North South Shootout is this weekend at Hickory, for the first time in the race's history. SPEED51 will have live coverage of the event, however there will be a blackout around the Charlotte, Winston Salem & Greensboro area. Modifieds will see a 150 lap race this year in the John Blewett III Memorial, Super Late Models will return under PRA sanction & will also have a 150 lap race. Other divisions include 602 Tour Modifieds, 602 Tour Super Limiteds, Allison Legacy Series & Vintage Cars

the Nashville Fair Board has terminated their contract with Formosa Productions (the most recent promoter of Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville) due to lack of confidence. According to NewsChannel 5 in Nashville, the promotion group owes the city around $150k - this is most likely due to the amount of rain outs that the facility had this year (around 8 or 9 - including the rescheduled All American 400 from 2018, which Kyle Busch was slated to race in)
