Daniel Suarez is going to run the #96 car, as expected.

I'm wondering how they will be able to do that if cup is running the oval the same weekend I'm guessing there Isn't as much change to the oval as the is with the Charlotte roval

There were GrandAm races on the same weekend than Nascar. They can convert the track in about 1 hour.

One thing that I was happy to read is him saying essentially the same thing that Logano said after the Phoenix test: the car doesn't just straighten itself out when it's loose. They seem to have really reduced a lot of the aerodynamic sideforce.

The car is simmetric and don't have a lot of right rear quarterpanel. Seems like Stock Bodys is the way to go to reduce some of the aero-dependence. So many years of development on wind tunnels made the Gen6 so aero-dependent. And not many rules to revert this process, unlike what we normally have with F1.

Erik also said that this car will have a lot more mechanical grip, which is very good news.

Also, from John Probst, NASCAR Senior Vice President of Racing Innovation:

Quote:
We also have a few other related items in development that aren’t on the car right now such as flap-down doors for the diffuser to get the liftoff speed even higher than what we run today.

Maybe faster speeds at Dega and Tona?

...and David Land was saying they planned to introduce a fourth stage to each race but decided against it for this year just incase the 2021 car turns out to be crap, then they'll introduce it to spice things up.

This car doesn't seem like the big swing that was needed at all. Till the front end has a splitter and needs to be flush with the ground, I simply don't see how you're doing to reduce aero push ENOUGH at 180 mph cornering speed on the cookie cutters.

I doubt it, because the new car just isn't really gonna have the power. It's probably more just a matter of them trying to find more ways to keep the cars on the ground, since they still find ways to soar. I feel like Larson's wreck at Talladega in the Spring was particularly concerning, because there was no grass, no damage to his car, and it still took off without even being pushed by another car.

Nice! Will be good to see him have a few consecutive runs, it's so hard to get up to speed with a team in just one-off appearances.

Good luck getting 170,000 through the gate for the Brickyard...

When the current deal is up, the Captain is going to tell them to piss off.

It's hilarious that NASCAR wants to penalize the tracks for low attendance despite the fact that it's completely NASCAR's fault the attendance is lower.

Just keep tearing down stands until every track looks like iRacing on a potato PC. 100% attendance every race and no one's got any proof that NASCAR isn't a Healthy Sport

So... does this mean they'll be penalizing every track on the schedule?

Knowing NASCAR, yep. That or they'll pretend it's full. They stopped giving out attendances didn't they?
