Because... why fucking not?

Indianapolis race dubbed Lilly Diabetes 200: The NASCAR Nationwide Series' 250-mile race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway has picked up a title sponsor in a multi-year deal. Eli Lilly and Company, an Indianapolis-based pharmaceutical company that also sponsors Nationwide Series rookie and Type 1 diabetic Ryan Reed, will back what's now known as the Lilly Diabetes 250. The Nationwide Series moved to IMS in 2012 after a 30-year run at nearby short track Lucas Oil Raceway (formerly Indianapolis Raceway Park) in order to join the Brickyard's "Super Weekend" - which also features the Brickyard 400 for the top-tier Sprint Cup Series and the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. But the first two NNS races at IMS, won by Brad Keselowski and Kyle Busch, did not have a title sponsor.

You won't really notice it on some cars, I guess... but on Dale Jr's, Keselowski's, Almirola's, Hamlin's, Harvick's (among others I'm not thinking of), it'll look a bit tacky.

After reading the changes to help identify the cars that make the chase. What happens if Matt Kenseth makes the chase?

It'll also look more or less normal for Gordon, Johnson, and probably Kyle Busch. All it really does is kinda screw unnecessarily with all the other guys' schemes. I think the yellow on the tops of the windshields would be plenty, IMO.

I've got an amazing idea. Let's just get rid of the Chase all together!

They should expand The Chase to 43 drivers over 36 races. Imagine how intense it would be to have to run well the whole season against four times the amount of drivers?

Little France could not comprehend such a complicated, common sense endeavor. If they ever go back to a normal season, it should be fewer races per season with several circle tracks eliminated and more road course races at additional locales.

Double points for the Talladega race imo.

Also standing restarts after cautions for all Chase races.

So the rookie stripe is yellow and the chase stripe is yellow.
Minutes of thought almost go into every decision.

You're thinking of two different things

Jimmie Johnson needs to win a championship without the Chase.

I don't think that'd be a stretch. He could have done it in his rookie season had it not been for some abnormally weird stuff happening near the end of '02, and Kenseth's near-perfect '03 with just one win (which caused fan uproar - imagine that) still had Jimmie nipping at his heels at Homestead.

Question the Chase, sure, but questioning he and Chad's title-threat legitimacy because of the Chase is a bit far-fetched. When you're good, you're good.

The biggest thing about the Chase (other than all the snoozefest tracks) is it changes momentum. The fact that only once has the regular season leader won the Chase (Smoke, 2005) is often overlooked.

It's only a matter of time before they try that whole half the field goes clockwise and the other half goes counter clockwise thing.

Can't wait to hear how Larry Mac will explain what that would do to the setup work

I think Jimmie would HAVE won it his rookie season if Mark Martin didn't take him out on the pace lat at DEGA that fall. Lol.
