what Ronald Reagan really needs to do is come back and cause more mass shootings at the US Postal Service, just like the old days

Ex NASCAR Driver and Drug Trafficker Steve Seligman, is back racing, and with disastrous results.

Go AT&T uVerse!!!

You must be in the perfect part of New Milford to get Uverse. We had it when we lived in Danbury and I loved it. Now, we live right in town (New Milford) and can't get it. Stuck with fucking Charter. Ugh.

But at least it's not Comcrap. They were the absolute worst cable service I have ever had. 4 fucking cable boxes we went through and never got one that didn't screw up. Took all their shit down to the office and dropped it on the counter. Told them they were fired and I didn't need TV.

I live in Aspetuck Village so that's pretty close to town as well. Half mile up Wellsville I'd say. I had Charter before and I fuckin hated it!! So many problems and the customer service was HORRIBLE. I may pay more now but it's so worth it.

Ugh... Goddamnit. I can see the hospital from my back deck and can't have my beloved uVerse back.

So basically if you go in the 1st round and are the fastest, but 24 ppl in the 2nd round are faster than the fastest 1st round driver, the 24 fastest from round 2 advance?

One of my best buds works at AT&T over in the Litchfield Crossings plaza. I'll talk to him about the area service and if they will be expanding anytime soon.

Yes but that would require 49 or more cars to attempt to qualify, and that won't happen, so no worries. The beauty is, if you're in group 1, you have NO idea where the bump is going to be, nor where the DNQ is going to be. However, the way to the fastest speed is still to lag back and get a huge running lap. Hard to do in only 5 mins as it takes a good 1.5 mins to get up to speed.

Because where you qualify is SO important at Talladega.

"This revision in national series qualifying at Talladega should be more exciting for our fans," said Robin Pemberton, NASCAR senior vice president of competition and racing development. "It will feature a more accelerated pace, provide greater opportunity for team strategy to come into play and it should more closely resemble actual racing conditions."

This is the real eye opener. We don't want qualifying to be exciting, we want the actual race to be exciting.

To me it reads like NASCAR wants to keep televising qualifying as part of their TV revenue, but the TV network feels it's unimportant, so NASCAR have decided to 'liven' it up.

Can't say I blame the network execs. Practice/qualifying sessions would fit in nicely as live stream exclusives for FOX Sports Go, WatchESPN, or likewise. Speedweeks and select marquee events (Dega, World 600, Daytona July, Indy, Homestead) would be the obvious exceptions.

There was a time, not that long ago (15 years or so), in Charlotte - the world center of stock car racing - not only were all 3 series races on the radio, but so was qualifying. Today you're lucky if you can find a Cup race on the radio.

But here's a sure sign that Charlotte has all but abandoned the entity that put it on the map. ( Sorry, banking industry, you may bring interest, but you don't bring excitement to the general population. ) Our local ABC affiliate decided to preempt one of the most anticipated Nascar events of the year- Bristol Night Race- for a PRESEASON NFL game. But surely, you say, at least the Carolina Panthers were playing. Alas, you would be wrong. To be fair, WSOC TV allowed a UHF (and sister) station to carry the race.

And this is the state of Nascar even with one of the best seasons in history playing out what with record pole speeds, an exciting Race to the Chase, and stimulating Knock-Out Qualifying. Let's just hope the final 4 at Homestead are not 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th in the actual points standings. Could happen. Could also be another nail in Nascar's coffin.

So many drama queens on the interwebs.

OMG THIS SCENARIO COULD HAPPEN IF SO RIP NASCAR.

Kyle Larson's car could have also flown into the grandstands at Daytona last year, killing dozens, and THAT could have been the end of NASCAR. But hey, it's still here. Some of us are also still entertained as hell by some of these races. I know they're not *all* barn-burners, but they were NEVER all barn-burners. We all remember those days fondly, but our perception is skewed by recent turns for the sport - we were just as bored during some races in those days.

Watch or don't. Stop being so dramatic. Don't over-think it to the point of giving yourself an aneurysm. The end.

Sorry but I stopped reading when I read "Nascar" and not NASCAR.
