Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Chastain's last lap was 18.845, according to NASCAR timing. I can't see any sub-20 second times from anyone else at any time in the race.

Honestly, it looked faster than 18 seconds.

If that would be a scene in a Hollywood-Nascar Movie everone of us would say "Oh come on, let's stay at least remotely real."

Nascar is going to promote this move forever to justify the playoffs :slaphead: .

Thinking ahead…turns 3&4 at Phoenix are pretty flat and tight. The idiocy is only just beginning.

If NASCAR doesn’t make this move illegal, the last lap at Martinsville next spring is gonna be, uh, really bizarre.

Would the leader next spring do this pre-emptively on the last lap? Would the entire top 10 do it? I'm excited to find out. Hope they don't ban it until after the spring race.

I was actually worried that he might have blacked out behind the wheel but still had his foot pinned to the floor...

That's why I was confused for a part, because I've seen that happen in front of me in a Brisca F1 race, only it was the first lap of the first race of the day and the car went from almost last to first by wall riding like that, turned out he'd be forced into the wall at T1, been knocked out and had his foot on the throttle and couldn't be stopped

Thankfully he JUST about came to enough to his his own cutoff switch but it was a very scary time

Fastest ever cup lap was in 2014 Qualifying.

Martinsville Speedway

Driver: Joey Logano

Date: March 28, 2014

Speed: 100.201 mph

Time: 18.898 seconds

So there you go, he set a track record for a cup car lol
