Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series & NASCAR XFINITY Series takes on the ROVAL at the Charlotte Motor Speedway - the track layout sees it's 4th reconfiguration in the last 7 years as the track has scrapped the tires & sausage curbs on the apron of the backstraight & has created a Monza/Portland style chicane between the infield section & the tunnel.

The race weekend features a unchanged format, with only Cup & Xfinity running on the road course (racing on Saturday & Sunday + practice / qual on Friday) - no other support events are on the calendar at the big track. However, the track has added a INEX National Qualifer event for Legend Cars on the 1/5 mile for Saturday morning - this track is behind the backstraight tunnel & fan admission apparently is free for this.

---

Elsewhere across NASCAR's regional & international tours:
NASCAR Pinty's Series hosts their championship finale at Cayuga this Saturday - Andrew Ranger leads the points by 11 over Kevin LaCroix after last weekend's race at Loudon (which saw some fireworks between Alex Labbe & LaCroix). NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour heads to Stafford Motor Speedway for the Fall Final on Sunday afternoon, this is their second-to-last race of 2019. NASCAR K&N Pro Series West races at Meridian on Saturday night. Guadalajara hosts the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series on Sunday afternoon. ARCA, K&N East & Whelen Euro are off this week.

Entry Lists:
Charlotte
Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series at Charlotte - 40 cars entered
NASCAR XFINITY Series at Charlotte - 38 cars entered

Stafford
NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour at Stafford - 33 cars entered

Meridian
NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at Meridian - 16 cars entered

Jukasa

Will be going on Saturday once again, haven't seen a single top-3 race in full outside of Eldora & the ones that Zippy was able to run this year so should be interesting. Still hate them damn comp yellows but it is what it is.

-

Will be creating a new thread for Mods, Pinty's, Mexico & K&N to go alongside the ARCA & Euro general discussion thread. Will use those for race discussion for events outside of Cup/NXS/Truck/IndyCar/IMSA weekends. However at this rate with K&N, you might as well curtail within the ARCA thread because of the soft-merger in 2020. I will continue to add the info in on the main post, alongside links to those threads like usual.

As posted in the IndyCar thread

(I may or may not be looking for some cheap tickets right now as they just went up to $22 dollars)

Meh. Me wants more proper fast ovals in IndyCar. If they can run Texas, they can run Charlotte.

Well, the new Texas layout is terrible, so I'd be happy to see it dropped in favor of the Charlotte or Atlanta ovals.

I hate the new Texas layout for NASCAR, but I really enjoyed the IndyCar race there this year. Drivers can really methodically set up passes and it adds some extra bravery factor to making a move into turn 1.

I wish they could take some of those crap 1.5 milers and turn some of them into rovals for nascar. Indycar doesn't need that right now as they go more often to good road courses.

But Indy could go to smaller ovals like Milwaukee or Nazareth if they hadn't killed it

Added entry lists, 40 in Cup & 38 in Busch (I know it's Xfinity but don't care)

that wide turn 1 is one of the worst corners I have ever seen on an oval track

Kentucky's bad, but not as bad as the Texas debacle

Look like I got here just in time for the derpin....

Not actually an impact in that mass spinfest, which was impressive.
Aside from 7 hitting the 8 into a spin anyway.
