NASCAR Cup & NASCAR Trucks return to Michigan for their August race weekend at the 2.0 mile superspeedway

NASCAR XFINITY Series takes on their second road course of the season this Saturday at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Supporting the race weekend includes: SPEED Energy Stadium Super Trucks, Trans-Am Series | TA1 / SGT / GT, Trans-Am Series | TA2 & FIA/SCCA Formula 4 USA.

Meanwhile north of the border in Quebec, the annual Grand Prix de Trois-Riveries is this weekend - which features the NASCAR Pinty's Series on Sunday afternoon. All other regional & other international tours are off this weekend.

Across short track racing:

The granddaddy of them all is this weekend for the World of Outlaws - this being the NOS Energy Knoxville 410 Nationals. This week has been a roller coaster for several top flight drivers - Kyle Larson, Shane Stewart, Brian Brown, Logan Schuchart, Kerry Madsen & many others will be needing to run Friday's Hard Knox qualifer night (or) they will be deep in the soup on Saturday.

Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series is in action at Florence (KY) for the North / South 100 this weekend, Jennerstown (PA) hosts the Motor Mountain Masters for Late Model competition on Saturday, Southern Super Series will be racing at Cordele (GA), USAC Silver Crown is in action at Salem (IN) this Saturday.

Just noticed that I am in 79th place in the Random Fantasy Racing game... and that's with forgetting to even make a pick for the July Daytona race. Not too shabby.

edit: And I got Rowdy this week.

Not too shabby. I got Truex, one of the few good picks I've had all year. 615th place despite picking all the races...

Got Hemric. Had a surprising run of top tens and gone from 700th to 617th. And yeaa, all the races but yet behind people who have only done 14/15/16!

I got Hut Stricklin this week.

For some reason, that name instantly makes me think of old TNN broadcasts and Eli Gold saying "For you Hut Stricklin fans..." after reporting he's back out of the garage after making repairs and is 39 laps down or something. I literally have no idea why my brain makes that association, but I love it.
