Feels like with the increased safety of cars and tracks, this sort of driving goes unpunished. Gonna lead to something pretty bad one day.

I had a friend over who's never really watched before and he was like "He can do that? No penalty?" then shook his head and went out the door, laughing.

look at the fucking replay.

Dingdong chased Almirola down the track and finally turned him.

Keselowski turned Carl, Tony turned Kyle. Both could've backed out of it, didn't and caused huge crashes but won the race. Dillon could've back off and lost or stayed in it and won.

Sure, it's dirty and he's a privileged little bastard. I get that you all hate him but you mean to tell me you wouldn't lay the bumper to him to move him out of the way to win the Daytona 500?

I'm not saying it's not cheap, all I'm saying is what would you rather have had him or anyone else do? Lift and lose? At that point if you break your momentum you're screwed.

False. Those were both failed blocks by the leader after there was already an overlap.

Kes turned Carl because of the yellow line rule. Carl pulled down on him and at the previous RP race they took away the win for Smith going below the yellow line. At least Kes was making an effort to pass.

And with NASCAR's point scoring logic, 7th place finisher Ryan Blaney now leads the championship.

Yes he can lose, he didn't just move him out of the way, he hooked him into the wall. I agree he's not the first to do it, he's just the latest.

If you can just wreck the car in front and win then it should happen every race. But it shouldn't happen because it's fucking stupid.

Matter of opinion. Both could've back out. Especially Kes.

However, I apologize to the entire forum for my opinion since I think I've offended everyone and I'm clearly wrong as everyone else I've talked to also thinks Dillon is a piece of shit.

Goodnight folks!

I never voiced an opinion on Dillon. Just gave my 2¢ as you did. We don't have to come to an agreement.

Maybe I'm regressing into a crotchety old man who doesn't get the "kids these days", but that dab was fucking atrocious. :slaphead:

I don't see anyone attacking you, only disagreeing with your argument, which I also disagree with.

In most disciplines of motorsport there's a general acceptance that the leading car and the following car have different responsibilities in clean racing and avoiding an accident; the lead car has the right to cover a line as long as there isn't an overlap and they're not causing an accident the following car can't reasonably avoid, and the following car has the right to overtake the leader as long as they pick an unoccupied lane to do so and don't force the leader into an accident they can't reasonably avoid. Even NASCAR used to respect that understanding, but it's been clear for a while that no longer applies. I'm breaking my own rule here by comparing the current shit show to the sport it once was, but I think as a motorsports forum we can criticise Dillon against this standard. Either that or we accept that NASCAR shouldn't really be considered motorsport anymore.

On a different note, good to see some legit emotion from a driver who's had to fight for a place in the sport. NASCAR needs more of this.

Overdosed on Ativan and fell asleep 30 laps into the race. Woke up and rewound to watch the last 10 laps. Still groggy from my power nap, so I'll just let Allie Brosh from Hyperbole and a Half summarize my thoughts:
