Don't show any interview with Bubba...not like he finished 3rd in an RCR 3rd string shitbox, you cocksuckers. NBC is just awful. Yeah lets show the hat dance brick kissing for 20 minutes, listen to DJ fumble his words, Kyle not clear his throat, and ditzy Krista will probably find a way to bring up Sherry's cancer out of nowhere.

Johnson is simply overdriving this thing. Time to call it a career or will he linger amid this shitshow like Darrell Waltrip used to?
Well he's part of the 7x club, so maybe he's going for the King Richard career trajectory...

God these NBC commentators are so fucking loud. Burton and Jr screech like chimps in a cage all the time. Yelling =/= Excitement

Every time I watch race footage now I wonder who's coaching Jr to speak like Larry the Cable Guy on speed. DW was given the same coaching through his commentary career, listen to his early 2000's races and he's not nearly as grating. Seems like no one realises the value of contrast between play by play and colour commentary now, they're literally all trying to be the same voice saying the same things. Really hope JG doesn't take the same shitty coaching.

Yea, I remember hearing DW on some Busch races before his Fox gig and he was much calmer yet spoke with insight. Then he turned into a jabbering car salesman caricature on Fox. To be fair, this is what the networks encourage, it seems. Larry McReynolds wrote in his book how the Fox boss at the time told him he was falling asleep listening to the 2001 Daytona 500 practice commentary and they had to sound more exciting.

Even Jr, when he was auditioning in the booth, sounded much better than the chimp he's turned into now. It's just grating, like you said.
