last Busch race at Nazareth

the V8 Sleuth posted this photo from when Charlotte brought over the AUSCAR's for a demo run back in the early 90's. Brad Jones was one of the 2 drivers in the run. Below is Brad's podcast with the Thunderdome fan page on Facebook, and talked about this demo run at 41:15

Thank you so much for linking this video, leads to a treasure trove of Southside videos from 95/96. I was only 12/13 years old then, but I still distinctly remember Bugs and Bubba and the Grubbs, and Bullet's Burgers.

I'm guilty of not really attending races anymore but I still live in the Midlo area.

footage from the pits from the 1970 NASCAR Cup race at Albany Saratoga

might of posted these before but here's various videos from the Periscope Film channel. Some of these films may feature fatalities, however I haven't watched all of them so I have just listed if that year featured one in the event (practice or race)

1956 : "Take it from a Champion" promotional film by Champion Spark Plugs
1956 : "Chevrolet Action Release No. 3"
1958 : Southern 500 at Darlington - WARNING - POSSIBLE FATAL ACCIDENT FOOTAGE IN 1957 HIGHLIGHTS
1963 : Ford / Autoline Spark Plugs promotional film following the Lotus team at Indy & the Wood Brothers at Daytona
1966 Daytona 500 - documentary film produced by Dynamic Films for DIS

Whoa! Thanks for posting this!

that channel has been posting alot of awesome gems caught by Don Bartlett in recent months, especially from Oswego & the old Mile.

Speaking of which, here's footage of the USAC Stock Car race at the Mile in 1970. McCluskey & Kohler were critically injured - but both came back to race another day

You don't actually see the wreck happening but it must have been very nasty judging by the damage (this is Kohler's car):

Having a few drinks tonight, I looked for a ridiculous race to enjoy. I think I found one, the 2005 Busch race at Talladega. Lots of carnage.

Good stuff. Hearing Ken Squier calling races at his home track Thunder Road is a real treat.

Close racing for the lead; plus Petty and Waltrip put on a great example of "racing the rain".
