Whoever is directing this race for Fox is an idiot. See the wreck starting from the bumper cam and then cut to the crowd and then to a couple of cars involved in the wreck.

Ironically, if they had stayed on Hamlin's bumper for like 2-3 more seconds, they would've at least shown Burton flipping live (From a less desirable angle, mind you, but still).

Weren't they on a break? Kinda normal for them to just stay on an onboard for the world feed.

That was noughties LMP level ease of flipping while sideways.

I didn't get to watch the duels but I just watched the highlights. I'm sticking by my theory that the racing is going to suck this year as they work out the kinks/get some more practical time to analyze the racing. Curious as to what this weekend is going to bring. But if that is true about the roof flaps/hinged bumper thing and that means that no cars will ever get airborne again I'm never gonna watch NASCAR again /s (kinda)

it means no blowovers. so don't worry, there are other ways to get flipperz

Blowovers confirmed

Things are looking up! No pun intended

I think with this flat bottom car if a car gets turned head on into the wall on the straight and is then hit it will go skyward pretty much every time.

Settle down boys, let's see how the rest of the race plays. We know there will be more chances for flight. If it happens, then there are real problems. If not, maybe Burton was a fluke... Like the left rear suspension was broke and gave the car a good angle to get air under it, etc.

Did they just come back from a break to say they were going into another break?

11 of the top 12 are Fords, the lone non-Ford up there is Ty Dillon. The Fords are going to be tough to beat.

Surprised to see the 21 wreck like that. I think someone on TV said these cars had a higher center of gravity compared to the old cars, so my money was on someone doing a weight-shift type flip.

I say is a really big reason for concern, he was so slow. They will probably remove the rear difusor for plate tracks, and maybe make more floor chances. Calling it. Reducing HP is not an option anymore...

Keselowski comes away with the lead. Briscoe and Elliott both lost a lot of time on pit row.
