Also, I know that bitching about grass related topics makes some of you mad, but that tri-oval grass is awful. Why do they always do that swirly shit?

It's a plot by the Illuminati to bring NASCAR fans to an end by forcing us all to have photosensitive epileptic seizures as the camera pans by the wavy pattern each lap.

Why can't they just stick to straight stripes or checkered pattern?

Give it time, they'll just pave it over eventually.

I didn't notice it in Shootout practice last night, but I just watched single car runs from Biffle and then Ambrose and it looks like the teams are running with the rear of the car offset to the left a little bit. Wonder if they've found something with that setup that is ideal for qualifying trim. Not used to seeing that after getting used to the intermediate setups with the rear cocked substantially to the right.

Yea they started doing that at the newly repaved plate tracks the past couple of years to cut down on drag as much as possible.

Also, Helton is kinda lollin' about the Knaus situation. "It makes you wonder, doesn't it?" He said his past history is going into deciding whatever penalties they face after the 500. I'm guessing it'll be more than the 5 races he got in '06 and '07!!

what is this

A poorly put together paragraph about Mike Helton not understanding how Chad Knaus could screw up like this again, and that massive penalties were forthcoming.

Looks like I overestimated some folks' ability to get the jist of it. ;)

Yep.

I have to admit, the Daytona race is the only ARCA race all year that I get really nervous about. Talladega doesn't seem to be as bad.

I love how DW is still praising Danica about her save in the ARCA race two years ago because she knew to let go of the wheel from her IndyCar experience. If I'm not mistaken, don't they teach you to let go of the wheel when impact is imminent so you don't break your wrists?

She let go of the wheel to brace for impact and instead the car steered itself straight.

I'll be the first to admit though, I'd love to see her win the 500. That would be the biggest storyline imaginable. I am pulling for her to be successful, regardless of the media attention she gets.

You are right, it really isn't a big deal... unless you're DANICA

Sheer luck. Any onboard of that?

Don't think I could watch a Cup or Nationwide race for at least six months if that happened. The media would never shut the hell up about it.

Yea, if it did it would probably be best to avoid all media for a while. Still not sure she's entirely grasped the two car tango concept though. I know she struggled with it last year.

In all fairness to her, she only let go for a split second. Once she realized there would be no impact, she immediately grabbed the wheel. I mean I can't stand all this Danica mania myself but you guys jump all over her for EVERYTHING. It's not her fault DW brought this up...
