Nice that 98% of the racing footage in the commercial was from good Brickyard 400's in the 90's/early 2000's.

I noticed that too...well, I mean how many highlights can you think if from 2001 on??

Good God-a-mighty... this week has the best setups I've ever seen in two months being here. Let's hope these inspired annunciations help bring lots of damn good racing somewhere, sometime this week.

The Brickyard: where the past few years have seen nonstop pulse-pounding action, plenty of lead changes, and edge-of-your-seat drama.... in Indycars. When Cup and Nationwide come to town, not so much. Perhaps this year will be the exception? Please?

Eldora: a track so awesome, it made Norm Benning look like a badass. The Trucks will be doing some mudslinging this Wednesday night for their second trip to the half-mile dirt oval in Rossburg, Ohio. No Kyle Busch to put a whooping the field; that role will be played by the two guys that make cowboy hats look like must-have douchebag wear, the Super Dillon Bros.

IRP: abandoned by the Nationwide Series for the irresistible allure of playing to near-empty crowds at the big track. It will host the ARCA Racing Series this Friday night.

The Aero Push 400 is gonna be a great race.

I love Indy, but it absolutely blows with stock cars.

Well, let's see.

2002 had Kurt and Jimmy Spencer going at it.
2003 had Harvick winning and blowing out his tires during the burnout.
2004 had a bunch of wrecks, for some reason.
2005 had Stewart winning his first at Indy, saying "here kitty kitty" on the radio.
2006 had Tony Raines popping a wheelie on the final lap.
2007 had Jimmie on fire.
2008 had lots of tire LOL's.
2009 had John Montana's pit road derp.
2010 had a fantastic battle at the end between McMurray, Biffle and Harvick.
2011 had a fun fuel mileage race because those are AWESOME.
2012 had... erm...
2013 had... the same?

Not exactly stellar races in the last couple years, but I *used* to love this race without fail, every year.

The 2005 Stewart win was a duel with Kahne. The 2007 race was that goofy ass "here kitty" thing.

Ahh. I thought he said the "here kitty" thing about Kahne. I completely forget who he chased down in '07...

**EDIT**

I guess it was Harvick.

I don't remember much from that race itself but the finish was legitimately pretty entertaining. Usually fuel mileage races end up being one car 96725390679576 seconds ahead of the field and basically coasting to the finish, or being only slightly ahead and running out with 1 or 2 to go.

Here you had the top 5 on top of each other, mostly saving and trying to race for the win at the same time, and Gordon charging like a madman to get to the front.

Other than that, I won't be sad if I have to miss any of the races this weekend besides ARCA.

Former ARCA flipper Mike Affarano has been added to the Eldora entry list in his own #03 truck. I believe Affarano flipped an ARCA car at Daytona a couple of years ago.

That was Talladega I think. On the frontstretch, when the engine kinda fell out on the last roll?

Michigan 2008 (Jr's first win with Hendrick) was good too with Jr and McMurray swapping the lead back and forth twice a lap while trying to save fuel.

Lot of action in practice, suspect the rain this afternoon will keep a little more moisture in the surface this year, should be fun.

I'm still upset about JR Heffner finishing SECOND in his heat last year, but not qualifying for the main. Hopefully he makes it to the big race this time. I know the series is trying to protect their regulars, but that was bullshit.

Yeah, that was beyond dumb, the heat races and consi would be really intense if no one was guarenteed in. JR didn't look great in the first practice, but I still think he'll be able to race his way in once they get the set up right.
