I wonder how much of a difference the new splitter package for cup will make at Bristol in 2011.

Bruton was never known to be an intelligent human being. Must have seemed like a good idea at the time. I think Cryan's right when he says Saturday could have been an all-out war. The COT can take some incredible punishment, and the "Boys, have at it" doctrine would have only encouraged the masses to beat the shit out of each other, and would have made Bristol even more entertaining than it was.

They do need to tear it up and change it back to the way it was. Old Bristol with new car and "Have at it" is just a license to print money, especially with some of the feuds going these days.

Just a thought, but won't the track get a bit better once it ages? It seems like every single track there is is shit for a while after it's repaved, but once it gets a chance to age, it gets rougher and a bit better.

That's true for almost every other track where there's only one racing groove following a repave. Then as the track ages and wears a bit, you have more grooves to run. But for Bristol, the reconfiguring into progressive banking already added an extra couple of racing grooves and ageing will only improve that situation if anything. When it comes to Bristol, we want it to be one grooved so everyone's fighting for it and there's the chaos and mayhem that made Bristol the hottest ticket in racing.

Bristol died for me when it went to concrete. Though the empty seats are more a sign of the times right now, then what has happened to Bristol.

Meanwhile on the track LOL KYLE BUSCH

I wouldn't be shocked if Blaney gets a top 20 finish Saturday night. Blaney qualified 3rd in a start and park car for the spring race. I'll be interested to see how he does at Bristol when he's being given the chance to run all 500 laps.

Todd Szegedy got a great run into turn 1 on the start. He's led the first 14 laps so far. It looks like there are at least 5 cars that are very evenly matched so far.

No shortage of experience up front at half-way between Ted Christopher and Mike Stefanik.
