looked like his car was set up so low that it completely bottomed out over the bumps in turn 4

The race is gonna be a nightmare.

I’m hoping this is just a matter Fontana being the worst match for the new car. They’re so stiff and so low. This rough surface is surely the worst thing to accompany those car characteristics.

These cars have shown they are much more prone to spinning thanks to less sideforce and the shorter sidewall tires. But I believe you are right that this track is pretty much the worst possible fit for the car. The bumps are some of the worst I have ever seen. It's an extremely low grip, worn out surface and they're bouncing all over the place no matter what line they run. I bet they'd be struggling even in the Gen 6 car.

they can always run different springs, tire pressures, and ride heights. not every car spun, but teams are making compromises to try to get more speed. things they did with the old car won't necessarily fly with the new one, especially if there's a speed bump in the middle of the corner, lol
