I wasn't going to watch a race other than Martinsville in the rest of the year but I thought I read somewhere today that NASCAR made another major fuckery of race administration so I downloaded a copy of the race and fast-forwarded through it in 15 mins and found nothing. But just goes to show how much we knowingly expect NASCAR to be a joke these days that I actually made the effort just to get my jollies from watching a once great series burn some more.

I'm just so turned off on the nascar big-3 series, man. The focus of any series should always be on good week to week races but it's all about the stupid 'chase' every minute of the coverage, a championship which is so unfair really. I mean I get the drama aspect of having a lot to lose but it wears on after some time especially when the proper 'sport' fan in you realises it's just an artificial raising of stakes designed to rob deserving candidates of their proper credit.

A championship should be nothing but a backstory and the races should be so good that even if the title is decided with 2 races to go, no one cares. But we know that the races 90% of them stink so bad now so naturally the championship is as gimmicked up as it is in an effort to salvage fans.

What I remember most about my days as a hardcore NASCAR fan who would never, ever, miss a race is being so excited for the RACES. I didn't care who was leading the points, as long as the race entertained me. And even when the races were snoozers, which happened a lot, they were presented in such a way that made it tolerable.

I've stopped watching the races completely, and I don't even miss it. Not even fussed about seeing who won. Sad...

Having said that, I'll probably sellout and watch Dega.

I had on Rogue One and the Atlanta United game. Never once thought about the Cup race and I didn’t even realize they were at Loudon. I used to be able to keep track, at the very least, of where NASCAR was at every week. Now I don’t even know or care.
