Yes. Probably worst modified race I've seen here yet. Coby got to the rear bumper of Emerling with about 10 to go in lapped traffic but then Emerling pulled away again.

Gave up staying for the truck race and drove back to the house. Is the truck race still on FS1 when it runs or on FS2 now?

Reconfigured Bristol was another nail in the coffin of NASCAR. Why would you even touch your hottest ticket? Jeff Byrd, the guy who thought it up realized his mistake after the very first race but by then it was too late. He went around apologizing to every fan he could and is probably rolling in his grave during every Bristol weekend.

Nice man and all, but he died of brain cancer? I can see some unrespectful jokes about that....

Thanks for the story, nice to know that they were sorry after the very first race already. A shame they still haven't repaved, 10 years after the last true saturday night bristol race.

I think I read somewheres that they don't have the blueprints for the earlier design. No laser scan or anything either. The iRacing version was scanned just after the reconfig so that's a shame too.

Well there are a few major differences they could look at to kinda go back... Put the banking back in it. The corner transitions are way too smooth now. Allows a car to be able to choose that high lane easier. Before it was more abrupt so that gave the inside the advantage. Also they widened the straights. Reduce the width. I'm no engineer but that's where I'd start.

They could surely go back to a version 99% similar to the original. Guessing they're not doing that as it would cost many millions. Definitely a cost worth incurring if you ask me.

If it brings back the crowds then yeaa, eventually they'd make that money back if they got the grounds back.
