Wow wtf, they're already working on 2016 changes in that testing session at Charlotte.

Joe would know this. The Braves can only draw if they're good (so lol), the Falcons are drawing because of Matt Ryan, the Hawks can only draw when they're good (so lmao), and the Thrashers...

Oh, right...they're in Winnipeg.

Hey guys. The idea that people aren't into sports in Atlanta is false. They aren't into professional sports. College football is a religion in Atlanta, just like any other city in the South. Their game is on Saturday, and most of them are those gratingly annoying GEORGIA BULLDAWG fans. The rest of them are either Georgia Tech fans, Alabama fans, Auburn fans (inexplicably), FSU fans, or Florida fans. The pro game just isn't their thing.

The Braves will draw even less this year, for the record, as they've gotten rid of most of their top talent. They've got to pay for their new stadium - which is being built in one of the worst traffic hotspots in an area known for its horrendous traffic. They just wanted to stay away from those scary black people that live south of town.

The Falcons are drawing despite themselves. Then again, the NFC South this year can not be accurately explained by any scientific method. Ever.

NASCAR's not drawing for two main reasons: 1.) Why do tracks still sell tickets with the assumption that the economy's still in the shape it was before everything went to shit? NASCAR and its track promoters never adapted.

2.) Who wants to pay $350 a night for a hotel, with a two night minimum? You can't justify that.

If the track promoters, local areas, and hotel owners adapted to the economy, there'd be no seats torn down. They're just covering up for their gross incompetence.

Then they should repave the place, and in 3 years to 8 years we'll have great racing. The last repave was in 97, and 00-05 were some of the best races.

Atlanta is the only 1.5 miler I can stand because the rough surface makes the cars all sideways and shit.

So in 2015 the cars will run through the corners at the same speed but have less power on the straights? Lol. This could possibly be the worst racing ever seen on the 1.5 mile tracks. The leader running almost flat out and everyone else pushing up the track in the dirty air.

2016 sounds promising, but I don't trust NASCAR to make a sensible decision. Hey, the drivers love the cars being harder to drive and they could follow each other through the corners. This improved racing might improve our audiences... Better make changes in the opposite direction!

We'll see side-by-side racing, alright, but cars can't do shit.

Makes no sense to postpone until 2016 any lower downforce changes when they can easily make the changes now before the 2015 season. More HP, less downforce... I just don't understand what NASCAR's angle is. It appears that they must have a plan, but it also appears impossible to decipher in the sea of bullshit decisions.

Apparently they are also going to stop penalizing teams for loose/missing lugs. I understand that it isn't necessary to get all five tight but this seems like a terrible plan, nonetheless. Increasing the likelihood of a loose wheel, even if just slightly, is an unnecessary risk to the fans.

NASCAR really does hate the fans so much they want them dead now, lol.

I don't see how that's a risk to the fans. The driver will know very quickly that they have a loose wheel. All it does it make the teams more mistake prone without NASCAR looking over their shoulder. To say NASCAR wants fans dead now is quite a stretch.

I'm ok with that rule change.. because there have been times (albeit rare) where the official would claim there was a missing lug, when there wasn't.. and that screwed the team.

It's quite the risk/reward option.

Let's not forget that this lug nut rule change was made because NASCAR is now "officiating pit stops remotely" or whatever. They aren't doing it because they want to ease up on the teams and think it isn't a safety concern. They are doing it because the people who used to stand in the pit stalls and enforce the rules are no longer there. It has nothing to do with whether it is safe or not.

Yeah him and Trevor Bayne's health issues seem to be pretty severe. Hope recovery is quick and we'll see him back....leaves an open ride for the first few races who will get the call? Discuss.
