It's only exact type of light rain that can make things interesting. If it gets any heavier (requiring full wets), Charlie brings SC out. Unfortunately, recently we have only gotten heavy rain or so light rain that it vaporizes immediately.
Nowadays the chances of having lottery race is like...well, winning the lottery.

So is Jos driving this weekend or something?

That man should chill and just sit in the paddock. :slaphead:

the most disturbing element in that photo is the tarmac run off.

Anecdote; Verstappen drove a hell of a race back in 2001.

2001 proves why we need rain. It makes for a good race.

Dry Sepang = dull

I love the run from the final corner, through the tast turn 1-2 switchback which has seen so many pass/repasses over the years, then the curved blast to turn 3.

The rest I can do without but the first sector is pretty good.

And it says a lot about modern F1 that we're clinging to a hope of rain to make things exciting.

Actually, now I think about that, the entire time I've been an F1 fan all fans do it get massively excited about the potential of rain then being underwhelmed when it doesn't arrive

Saying that, it will be fascinating to see a wet race in the post-Japan 14 era. Will the FIA still have the confidence to allow the teams to make the calls when it comes to putting the right tyres on for the conditions, or will they think, as many other series have decided, that it is their decision to ensure this via Safety cars/red flags and recommended tyre choices.

I honestly think the days of an old fashioned "race starting dry but gradually becoming wet, underdog team scratches out result due to excellent strategy despite poor car" racing are behind us in this era of liability etc.

It's not unusual. Vettel drove with one under his chin last year to absorb all those tears.
