There some footage of an onboard camera fitted to the nose cone of Bill Alsup's car in this Indycar race from 1981. "Expensive experiment".

Vettel in FP1 at Hungary, This camera was removed from his car before FP2. Its really low quality as it was taken from Sky's Multi-feed screen, By the time i'd clicked on it to get it full-screen it had been switched to the T-cam.

Top Man! Many thanks Stefmeister!

p.s. Must be no coincidence that the abundance of nose-cams this weekend was at the expense of the cockpit side cam's?

What's been up with FOM this year? They've actually run different angles on different cars rather than on the same car all year.

Here's a nose-cam from Sebby V's Ferrari

In 1984 Manfred Winkelhocks Brabham (he replaced at the Portuguese GP Teo Fabi) was fitted with an onboard camera (~ 3 kg). The system was tested during practice. The signal was transmitted to a helicopter. The pictures were excellent, but due some malfunctions the system was removed before the race.

More great rare shots guys! Keep it up! The 1984 Brabham camera - their is a brief shot from it used during the opening of the official season review video for '84, it was from Piquet's car at Brands Hatch and was fitted on the Left Hand Side of the car

Is that the 1994 Pacific? Gachot carried a camera at the 94 British GP, doubt we'll ever see the footage from that, this will be the closest thing. Any chance of posting the actual video please?

Yeah its the 1994 car, It was some testing footage from top gear from memory. I took those screen-grabs a few years ago so i'll have to go looking for the video.

EDIT, Here is the video showing just the OnBoard clips:

And I also put the full segment up:
