Rain chances have dropped massively according to some models.
It will be a day to day assessment whether the tyfoon will have an impact or not.

postponing will not be an option given Monday is likely to be wet and the race at Sochi is just about 5 days after the GP is supposed to take place - clearing Russian customs might also be somewhat tricky.

Maybe they will bring the action forward on Sunday, when the rain is likely to be less intense? I love Japanese GP old-school style at 4AM.

#F1 FIA will discuss with Ecclestone to start #Suzuka race earlier because of typhoon threat. Early darkness could become a problem.

I hope they confirm it on Saturday, don't want to wake up just to see the podium

I think they shouldn't do anything. Preventive action sometimes results in adverse effects or unnecessary disruption.

If I remember correctly, on Saturday in 2004, the end of the world was basically forecasted. Everything was locked up and sealed off. In the end, it was just a dark day with on and off rain and not that much wind even.

A typhoon coming to Suzuka? Nothing new really!

Did we had a earthquake during the GP weekend before? It will be gigantic monsters invading the circuit next (the Japanese like monster characters you see!)

The earthquake was in 2000. About the typhoon, I don't think it will hit the track with strenght enough to cause problems and/or schedule changes, the typhoon season this year has been much weaker in Japan than in other years, most of the typhoon that already came, lost a lot of power when it hit the island, so I don't think there will be any kind of problems, of course some rain might come, but nothing over the limit.

Really? Lol! So it's kinda unpredictable on how it's going to hit Japan. I just hope that the ammount of rain isn't huge, it would be really bad. Here in Brazil, due to the very large number of Japanese people living in the country, there are always many news about the asian typhoons in our weather forecast websites and since the typhoon season started, no one has hit Japan as strong as in previous years. I hope this one won't hit hard, not only for the race, but for all the problems a typhoon may cause.

Oh, another driver will debut in the friday tests this weekend, Will Stevens for Marussia!

Of course, the news loves to hype typhoons / hurricanes. :8:

It looks like the worst weather forecasted for Suzuka will be Sunday evening to Monday, though there still may be some rain throughout the rest of Sunday according to what the forecasters are saying.

Not yet at the legal age allowing him to buy alcohol or get a road drivers license (not forgetting legal age for sex as well), only just old enough to legally buy cigarettes. But is approved to participate in the top echelon of Motorsport. Makes sense.

I'm not reading that on news sites lol, I don't count meteorologists as sensationalists.
