I can't understand why JEV is losing his place. I really can't understand what Kvyat has done to get a seat at one of the best teams either. Meh. There must have been lots of things going on in the midfield that I didn't notice.

And then promoted when Bottas heads over to either Mercedes or Ferrari in 2016?

Or if Felipe goes off the boil.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Well that's F1 unfortunately.

Red Bull already have a good market in France with Loeb, Kvyat could be used to expand marketing in Russia, unless he starts driving like a regular russian driver

3rd driver at Force India or Williams seems like a good shot at a future seat, helped for Bottas and Hulkenberg. When Bottas went from GP3 to testing I thought they made a huge mistake by skipping GP2, they have proven me wrong. And Hulkenberg was able to reinvent his career after he got fired at Williams. Hell even Luizzi managed to get back to racing.

One year in the shadow could be good for Vergne. He has proven that he is almost/just as good as ricciardo.

I remember reading (I think on here) that Kvyat's a lot better at giving feedback on the car to the team. Don't know if there's any truth to that, but it's feasible.

I think Kvyat was picked because he has more raw speed(QLF) and maybe RB sees more potential in there when he matures.

In the races, JEV's pace is among the best and his racecraft is the best, imo. Hope this will not mean the end of his F1 career

Will be fun to see how Charlie deals with baby Max, though

JEV deserves the 2nd RB seat no question. He was really great in Singapore.

I don't think Vergne should get another go at STR.... That team was specifically bought by RedBull to give drivers from the Redbull development program a chance, so a fresh opportunity for a driver who hasn't raced in the series before either moving on to other teams or being told to move on...

I think Vergne is just another victim of F1 economics & with 4 seats potentially dissapearing from next years grid, he'll have to look to another racing series... He's not the first or last to be in this situation. Button (A former world champion) is potentially in the same boat...

If that's what they were looking for, then Hartley would be driving for them.

Only just realized that we're December 1 now. Can we expect something from Maccalaren today?

Decision delayed until January.

Spoiler:
Is what will happen.

It's probably a stalemate as Alonso wants Jenson yet McLaren wants Magnussen. Alonso may be refusing to sign unless he gets his wish, or vice versa. That's how I'm imagining it anyway.

Like they were going to announce their main sponsor before the Australian GP this year, and then before the next GP, and then never

What is the logic behind waiting so long to announce their drivers? So the unsuccessful driver is too late to try and secure a seat elsewhere? If Button does get the nod, it could end Magnussen's F1 career as I presume he'll have nowhere to go.

It's a tough call. Button is still delivering consistent performances and will be a safe number 2 to Alonso, but you have to think he's getting towards the end of his career (although age shouldn't matter if you're still doing a good job). Magnussen has shown moments where he looks quicker than Button, but it wasn't consistent enough over the season and you can see that clearly in the overall points standings. He's young enough to still improve though. I think Perez did a better job against Button last season, and he was dropped, so who knows?

I like Magnussen and think he has a lot of potential but if he wasn't in the Young Driver Programme like he was (and Perez wasn't), then I think McLaren would have already dropped him.

Mags is still too rough around the edges to be consistent, another reason small teams will always be needed.

Next year the strongest pairing for McLaren would be Alonso and Button, though both are nearing the end of their careers.
