Bumping this up, going to the Canadian GP this year! Grandstand at the turn 1 and 2 complex, because I want to see me some flipperz

Super excited already, this is one of the few venues that I really wanted to attend as a first F1 GP. I just regret I never went to a race before HALO, lol

The race was crap, but it was worth it. This event really is enjoyable and I understand why it's considered one of the more pleasant venues by fans and F1 teams.

Given the ticket price difference, I would consider only paying for Friday and Saturday if I go another time.
Friday is way less busy so you can spam the heck out of all the general admission areas, and do other paddock activities (this included a track walk). Saturday is worth spending in the grandstands where it's already fully packed and all the fans/flags atmosphere is there. Then you get your money's worth in support races where there's more action than F1 (the Formula Ford race was a complete thriller with a 4-way fight for the lead until the last chicane). Then piss off the circuit, go party downtown at the F1 festival, and be better off watching the Sunday race on TV or at a bar.

I've been to Monaco last week. Apart from the fact that it was too damn hot to move, it was fun to walk around the track. So unreal to see that there are terraces and people having an expensive drink on the place where Verstappen had his crash in FP3. And there is no trace at all of pitboxes.

Hey, I did the same thing about10 days ago. What got me is the hill up to the Casino and the sharpness of the tunnel.

If someone's planning going there, I highly suggest visiting the city a couple weeks before the Grand Prix as I did around 2012 or 2013.

You have the best of both worlds, the barriers/pits are in place, some roads are closed but others are open to traffic so you see regular cars/buses on the track, and it doesn't really hinder visiting the rest of the city.

I've been tasked with buying tickets for some relatives for a race next year, either Hungary or Italy, when do tickets go on sale? When the calendar is confirmed? When I brought tickets for Monaco and Italy in the pasr it was best to buy direct from the organiser, is that still the case now?

Does anyone one a website where you can buy tickets for Montreal 2019 but selected the individual seat?

Was there in 2018 - I don't think it is possible, the only way to get to choose your seat is to buy the tickets at the circuit (during the Grand Prix) for next year's, and then you can either keep the same seat if you liked it, or possibly select another one.

The official F1 ticket store does state that you can add a recommendation of which grandstand section you want to be at - I did my research for the Senna Corner because I wanted to also see the start-finish line, and got one not too bad in that regard, so it's worth specifiying it when you buy the ticket.

EDIT: this was the seat I got. You typically want to be in the higher numbered sections of this grandstand, and the lower numbered ones in the other one, otherwise either you're behind the trees or you don't see down the straight.

Really tempted to go to Portimão for the race but the price is leaving me on the fence. Ignoring the standing area, the ticket that interests me is one for the stand on the 2nd to last corner for €175 for the weekend. I think I'll get a good view of the last corner as well but can't find any pics from the stand to confirm.

Considering that, think it's worth it? Don't know how expensive it is at other tracks.

Don't pass up on the chance to go to an inaugural and likely one-off event

If you can afford it, you should definitely go - as mclaren2008 said, it's a piece of history and it'd be great to be a part of it. You'll only regret it if you don't go - I've spent the last few years thinking I probably should have gone to a race sooner. I'm considering going next year (probably abroad) but I hope I haven't left it too late if covid's going to ruin mass events

Yeah when it's an inaugural event, money doesn't matter

I dito all that and 175 doesn't sound bad to me at all. I once paid that for Saturday only in Monaco and the view, it was the worst grandstand I was on, ever, so yes you should go! :)

The prices for Interlagos usually are obscene. I never cared about going, even living in São Paulo. But if you really look forward to it, go.

Took the plunge and bought them. Just in time because they've already suspended the ticket sales.

Now I just need to find days off work, a way to cross the country, accommodation and company haha

The Algarve region has had less than 1000 Covid cases since the start, it's a relatively safe zone.

Not F1 but Indy500 this year. I saw they're selling tickets and not just a few but quite a lot. Does anyone plan on going to the Indy500? For the experience and given the pandemic, I'd be happy with a GA ticket for a few bucks but I'm not sure if an event in a pandemic with this many people will take place
