Looking at hockenheim for this year, has anyone who's been in the past got any recommendations on where to sit? Struggling to decide between the Mercedes stand or the final corner.

Planning to head back to Monza in 2014. Would be my 3rd visit there in the past 6 years.

Some of my friends will go there, too.
I personally have never been on the Mercedes stand. I was in the final corner for DTM. Sud D is a very good spot for pictures as you will have the cars on the same level with your camera. I saw F1 from Nord B and Sud H. Sud H has the advantage that it's way cheaper than Hauptribune and you have all the grid in front of you which is a nice entertainment during the long breaks. I also was on Innen B and C. C is nice as you'll see the cars coming straight towards you.

For my visit, I was thinking about Austin, but the prices are kinda expensive, aren't they?

Maybe friday practice in Spa for me with a bronze ticket. For the race it's too many people, couldn't see shit last year so I think I'll just watch the race on TV. Friday is the best day as it's not that crowded yet and you can move from one spot to another.

Or maybe after the race is to the test session if that one go's ahead as planned.

Where did you sit when there was too many people? I'm wondering where to sit on Sunday :p

Can you get around to Rivage + Speaker's Corner (the one after Rivage) with a Bronze ticket as well? If so, definitely Pouhon indeed.

you should be able to. gets crowded very early on Sunday though. just head straight to your spot early on and stay there.

to be honest I dont think a gold ticket is worth the money at all at spa. I had the grandstand at eau rouge and ended up seeing the race better by staying right in front of the fence away from the stand anyway.

Yep, there are two screens on the inside of the corner. One at the corner entry, and the other one halfway through.

And I echo what has been said, spa is one of the few tracks where bronze tickets are so much better than gold tickets.

I'm also tempted to go again, but.... I don't really know yet. The last season was such a let down in the end :-\

And Stijn, yes you can

I didn't do it but I have seen a show about it on tv. From that, I would say it must be a great experience, as far as that shitty layout allows anyway.

From what I saw, the car was not a 2-seater(although there were these type as well), so you can drive a F3000 by yourself with no instructor telling you to slow down.

However, before they let you drive the top car(the F3000), I think you have to go in a 2-seater with the track instructor tutoring you on things.

Melbourne tickets arrived :)

I've got 4 different grandstands for the 4 day race meeting. I'm particularly looking forward to Friday, sitting right across from the pits :) :)
