The back of the field will most obviously have the best looking cars. :(

Look tidy to me but it is very similar to the 2011 car or can I say the Dallara?

The 2012 car was designed from scratch.
Also, it was designed to use KERS (wider back), but then there was no budget to develop or buy the KERS. So now they have the aerodynamic disadvantage of a wide car, and no KERS to make up for it.
107% is far away at the moment.

Hang on, they built a car for KERS and now they are stuck with a wide load?

That is rather unfortunate!

It really wasn't though. They said the 2011 car was going to be new, and it was just the Dallara. This one has a little more updates, but it's not new and its not scratch.

New nose (which they had to do anyway) and new front wing (same endplates though) and new front suspension, smaller rear end, etc. Whilst it's an update, it certainly isn't scratch like HRT claimed it was. It's a substantial update to the old chassis.

Pretty inconclusive from that angle. Need to see better shots of the sidepods and rear body work. From that angle the front and rear look different, the airbox looks similar and everything else is too obscured to judge.

Pretty uninspired rear end though. The exhaust just shoot into no mans land and there doesn't seem to be anything special going on.

I must admit it looks very much like the 2011 car. Which is odd, because I have my info from the designer himself and he says he started from zero.

Well, no offence to him, but that clearly isn't from zero. It isn't exactly the same (the 2011 car was just the 2010 with minor updates to aero parts), but it's pretty similar. It's clearly built on a modified version of the old chassis, and it's currently running front wing end plates and a rear wing identical to last year for example.

To be honest, from the outside most cars still look the same like 2011 and 2010. Only major differences are the noses, but the HRT nose was already within the rules it seems.

Oh, by the way, I like how out of two sponsors, one is displayed on the inside of the rear wing, where it can't be seen.

Also, why is Tonio there? 8O

The light yellow on their legs in combination with the wheels hurts my eyes...

but other than that, the car looks nice.

They had incredible foresight.

I made that observation at the start of February

As for the reactions people are having, well it's no surprise. We were all the same when the 2009 breed appeared. But it seems we have short term memory loss. The 2010 HRT had a subtle version of the stepped nose cone for instance:

she's quite old for a young driver....I wouldn't mind one of the faster women in F1 but I doubt this is much more than a publicity stunt.

Oh of course. She isn't good enough for Formula One, but she has a stack of money. F1 needs to get the right woman - look at IndyCar and Danica. Okay, she wasn't fantastic but she was good enough to open doors for the likes of De Silvestro & Ana Beatriz. If F1 gets a hopeless women then the stereotype will continue and there'll be greater resistance.

Isn't she the girl who was driving up front in Super Leauge races because she ended the first race in last place...
