I think I actually have the right to own some turns of that track.

They should build the circuit in the shape of the Euro symbol.

Fernando Alonso is still regarded as the best driver and he last won the title in 2006. He hasn't had the best car for a long time, yet he's still driving exemplary. If Hamilton can drag a Mercedes around like Alonso has with the R28/R29/F150/F2012, it'll raise his reputation.

Alonso had the best car in 2005, 2006 and 2007. 2010 Ferrari was also quite strong, the 2nd best car of the grid after Red Bull. This year Ferrari has been fast in cold/changing weather races, the car has been slow only in qualifying, but the race pace is good. It's not like he's doing miracles with an average car this season, but he can make the most of it with that Ferrari, while Massa has been desperate finding the sweet spot for his setup. At this point it's difficult for me to say which is the best car at the moment. Red Bull is fast, but so is Mclaren and Ferrari when ever the conditions and track suits the best for one of those teams.

Nearly every champion from the past two decades have been driving with the best car of the season, with their team mate being either the runner up or strong enough to secure the title.

Alonso's 2012 season is one of the best I've seen from a driver in my watching of the sport. I think it's as impressive, if not more so, than Vettel last season. You can make a case for Vettel winning more races and getting better 2011 results (yes, really), whereas Alonso has left very little on the table this season. Only in China has he made an error I think.

McLaren was the best car in 2005 but had reliability issues
Ferrari and Renault were equal in 2006
Ferrari was largely the better car in 2007, it's just Lewis was mightily consistent until season's end

In 2012 Alonso has been masterful. At the first test the car was close to abysmal. Same in Australia and the win in Malaysia was unexpected. Alonso is showing why he's regarded as the best in the F1 field.

The F2012 is best at adaptability, it's very good at being average if that makes sense. It's also good in the wet, but yes, Alonso has been outstanding.

In 2007, it was very track dependant. The MP4-22 had a very short wheelbase, the F2007 had a long one. It meant at tracks like Monaco, the McLaren destroyed everyone. But at Spa, Ferrari were dominant.

It seemed Massa had no contest to his current Ferrari seat, but now there are rumours that Ferrari is interested in both Di Resta and Hulkenberg as a replacement.

I saw a comment made by Bernie about the sound of the turbo engines for 2014, he said they sound horrible. Since he must have heard them I was wondering if there's anything availible of this, some kind of footage or just the sound.

just watched this again in tv right now

and a question grew up in me: "how many penalties would they collect if something like that happened during a current race?"

:(

To be honest, I can only see one thing that would merit a penalty, and that's Villeneuve coming across the front of Arnoux at about 2:16.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

2.06, four wheels over the white lines, maybe. Although this is back when run-off actually slowed the car down.

He didn't gain an advantage as Villeneuve passed him almost immediately.

I wonder why Renault don't release Prost's onboard lap?!?! I see the car have a HD onboard camera, but two days after the tests, no footage??? I'm waiting anxiously for that! Perhaps the most valuable onboard video in this year.

A 57 year old man dawdling at half pace around a boring circuit during a demonstration run is more important, than, perhaps, onboards of the Vettel/Alonso incident at Monza? Onboards of huge crashes?

Yes I think it is. One of my favorite drivers coming back to the wheel of a Formula 1 car after more than a decade is very special.

Regardless of the Greece crisis, I'm not excited anymore when I learn about a possible new track in the calendar. Urban tracks excepted, they're just the same build with different curb color, and no real recognizable feature from the hosting country.

India was an exception thanks to those wide entry corners, and... pollution. Now that's some local added value.
