Hearing Max so chilled on the radio made it seem even more effortless

So the answer to "what has changed from last year" is apparently "the gap between Max and everyone else is far bigger than before"

........................

Have a fun season! :flag:

I guess drivers behaved too well today, which meant less SC and full management

and as you can see nobody can manage better than Red Bull. Next week things might play different, Jeddah is a meat grinder, the F1 Talladega

Tsunoda nearly took Ricciardo out after the race lol And Ricciardo called it "immaturity". Getting spicy at RB after only one race...

How depressing it must be for Ricciardo having to deal with such temper tantrums after dealing with a teammate such as Max.

I do hope today marks the start of a new attitude from Red Bull and that they no longer care about making it look close.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I thought the report said they had resigned before the season started?

The 2023 just had a winterstop, and has now continued.

It´s amazing that everyone has developped a new car, with new fresh thoughts and updates, and the order is exactly the same.

F1TV reported a small engine issue for Russell and that took him a shot for the podium

summing up, Perez did nothing but his obligation and Sainz is becoming hot property for the next season

True, they're serving their notice period.

Another great Liberty media production.
They'll soon learn that as fast as Gen y & Z got interested in F1, their interest will diminish at twice that pace.

I've read Red Bull have another agressive upgrade ready of this car.
Time to lap the field.

In all seriousness, I wonder how long Liberty are willing to let Verstappen and Red Bull dominate everything before they start putting pressure on the FIA to change the rules immediately to pull them back.

I cannot believe for all the off season realistic predictions of "It'll be just as bad as last year" we got the one thing no-one predicted:

It'll be so much worse than last season

Red Bull are much further ahead of even Perez didn't really need to try and just use the car pace to ease his way into second.
And we all know he isn't a superstar

Like Jesus Christ, I dont even think the battle for 3rd is going to be that good, Ferrari seem a clear 2nd place behind red bull, with Mclaren a bit behind that and Mercedes there or there abouts with Mclaren depending on if they can stop their car overheating if it comes within a start finish straight of another car.

Then Aston Martin again in their own little oasis and everyone else battling for the final point

Holy shit.....cannot believe how bad this season is gonna be.

Also disappointed in Ricciardo not doing the decent thing in giving the place back that he was gifted
He was let through to try and pass the car ahead, he couldn't but he didn't give the place back at the final turn as should be the right thing to do
But more and more its looking like it wasn't Mclaren that was the weak link in that setup and his time is rapidly coming to an end (Perez will be happy with this, he can saunter around with easy 2nds and maybe get near max on Street tracks and not have a threat to his drive)

1/10.
The only good parts were George passing Leclerc and the 2 Ferrari's fighting.

The last 2 years and probably this one are going to make 2002 look like a classic

The FIA needs to make serious changes for next year

So what's your take on Lewis's performance this weekend?

Car was overheating. Happened to both of them at various times

Lewis sacrificed qualy pace for race pace with less DF than George but with the battery issues and overheating issues, didn't have the race pace they expected from testing so couldn't break through cars with similar speeds to him

No doubt there'll be some negative spin on this but that's literally the story of what happened to him today, Merc had nowhere near the pace they expected and at best they'll be 3rd best behind Mercedes and worst 4th behind Mclaren, but that may waver dependant on track

All in all, looks like his Ferrari switch will at least allow him to be best of the rest next year, a slight improvement. Yipee

Do tell me, though, how that race was better than the Merc era... :whistling:

...or maybe let's wait and see how the developmental/upgrades race goes before we lock the 2nd to 5th order in stone after just one race :slaphead:
