If Andretti plan to buy Alpine why would they build their own facilities?

From what I heard, Renault would be willing to sell Alpine F1 with the condition of the new owners continuing to use Renault engines and Andretti plans to have GM engines in the future.

I can't see Andretti as the most suitable buyer for Alpine.

I still believe Liberty will deny Andretti an entry even taking Alpine

meanwhile Renault will likely sell their shares to very legitimate businessmen

It seems like Andretti are planning to join F2 and F3, to get some use out of that facility.

Likely scenario: Alpine pulls the plug. Andretti is still denied entry. We continue with 18 cars. 2 years later, a new team wants to join but the 9 running teams are against it because the paddock is too small for a 10th team.

No don't support the murder machine

Start your own series Michael. Pool in some investors, reverse engineer an F1 car from a more exciting series, copy and paste 22 times, go to tracks that aren't on the F1 calendar, go do a one-spec series that's better than F1

I know, I've been shot down 100 times suggesting it, but it would be nothing but wins, for F1 and racing fans.

I only support that idea if they race at Pergusa, Mugello and Road America

Alonso is staying put for at least 2 years.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Nice. I won't feel that old for a couple of seasons. Crazy to think that I was 11 when Alonso raced at Albert Park in 2001. The world has changed so much since. :8:

perhaps, but not Pérez. Sainz and Mercedes questions are far from over

2025 silly season is fizzling out rapidly.
Looks like Verstappen is planning to stay put at Red Bull.
Perez will likely be extended for 2025 and be dropped for 2026 in favor of Albon once his Williams contract is up.
Sainz closing in on a deal with Sauber.
Mercedes still eyeing up Antonelli; although if he bombs in F2 and needs another year in the juniors, then they'll have to find a stop-gap for a year (Vettel)?

Surprised by that. No one else wanted him?

Had a great run last year and has some bad luck with team choice, but a reminder, he'll be 43 years old next year, it's been 11 years since he won a race and coming up on 18 years since he won a championship.

Aston Martin has Carlos Sainz there fore the taking and they chose Fernando? Dumb move.

Maybe Carlos has a better offer from elsewhere.

Or maybe there is still one seat open at AM.

Hopefully Papa Stroll signs Sainz and sends Lance off to WEC, I think that would be a great move for him

Alonso said it was the longest deal he has ever signed and hinted it goes beyond his career as an F1 driver. I guess this is more about him being eager to stick with the team rather than anything else.

Maybe he is being a good teacher for Lance and they want to keep him as such, plus maybe help others as well.

Could also help giving advice for Aston as how to operate as a top team. With all his experience... At least what not to do....

No Aston choosing Lance is the dumb move. This isn't bloody FRECA where daddy has a team for his son. It is supposedly the pinicle of motorsport. Aston will never win anything as long as they have Lance in the team and choose him over a driver like Sainz.

I so so hope that the FIA and Andretti just go ahead and turn up to race without FOM approval. Would be the most glorious shit show ever.
