No more dangerous than the tunnel in Monaco

Far more dangerous, the tunnel in Monaco doesn't have huge run offs before it after a flat out 150+mph corner that end with a 90 degree wall at the bridge parapet, at Monaco the barrier runs perpendicular to the edge of the track and there is no "transition" into the tunnel whilst the cars are barely going faster than you drive on the motorway at that point.

If you think the two are remotely similar do an experiment, jog down a corridor and turn into the wall alongside you, to keep it realistic, make sure you hit the wall at about a 30 degree angle. Then once you've simulated a slow speed glancing impact at Monaco, run down the same corridor into the locked doors at the end as fast as you can.

When, actually if, you ever get out the intensive care, be sure to let us know how the two impacts compared.

Of course, in this modern woke bubblewrap age I feel the need to tell you that I am joking and please don't intentionally run into a wall as you may hurt yourself doing it and I wouldn't want the forums owners to be sued or I end up with a criminal record for encouraging self harm (yes that is a thing here and someone I know was convicted for this), but hopefully you get the point from the comparisons that your comparioson isn't a realistic one. An actual real work comparison is the bridge after the Chase at Bathurst and I'm pretty sure we all know what happened there and what changes were made after PR broke his ankle there.

A potential F1 track designed by Alex Wurz, in what looks like a sci-fi theme park development, in Saudi Arabia: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/saud ... 3/4655199/

Why does every new Grand Prix track has to have like 55 turns?

They should make them shorter, simpler, short lap times and high number of laps.

Hockenheim and the A1 Ring are simple layouts that produce decent races :whistling:

two classic tilke tracks provide decent racing yet everybody shits on him.

too bad his clients want car parks instead of racing circuits.

I have no problems with long tracks as long they have patches of grass (or that dragstrip product from hockenheim) alongside to ensure track limits

I thought the Viet Nam circuit would be more of a city track. But it seems to be more purpose build track in the end?

Renault has the 2nd best engine. Just behind Ferrari and just ahead of Mercedes and well ahead of Honda. According to themself.

I'm gonna make a bold prediction now: Daniel will be out of Renault before the season is over. During the season he signs for another team for 2021 and Cyril goes full bat shit crazy ex girlfriend again and kicks him out before the season is over.

I will make another prediction.

Ferrari will be fastest in winter testing and all annalists will say how the Ferrari's will be real competitors this season and that we will have a very exciting season between Ferrari and Mercedes.

Ferrari will be faster during free practice in the first race too.

And all of a sudden Lewis or Bottas will rape Q1 and win the race with quite a margin.

Last year the fastest Ferrari in Barcelona had 1.16.221 and in Q1 in may it was 1.16.272

The fastest Mercedes had 1.16.224 but in Q1 Barcelona it was 1.15.406

You are just explaining 2019. This year will be different.

No?

Please?

fingers crossed for RBR-Honda getting their shit together to make it at least feel like Lewis has to work for it this year.

they still say Honda is lacking performance. Imagine their speed when they get the same levels as Ferrari and Mercedes

I hope that too. Honda have got the engine finally to challenge for the win. Max matured big time from 2018.
So i have high hopes on him and Charles (but we know ferrari will mess up in strategy or pitstops)
Bottas 3.0 will last till Monaco and then he will be back to 1.0 cuz he cant keep with his team mate the whole year on that level.
Like in Germany 19 when Lewis messed up and it was Valteris chance to take the win, but he puts it in the wall. That way you will never make it.
Look at Rosberg 2016 he was always there 2nd,3rd behind Lewis but when Lewis messed up he was there and took it all and we know how it all ended in 2016, they had some crashes too that year....

Reading reports that the 2020 Ferrari is already making engineers shake heads and aerodynamicists wince as they try to ape Red Bulls rake for extra downforce

Such doom and gloom this early can only mean one thing

Congrats Sebastian Vettel, 2020 world champion

leclerc is > vettel. leclerc could be champion in 2020, but i dont see how vettel gets there as long as he's teamed up with him.

that said, GO LEWIS!

If Ferrari and Red Bull can improve just a little bit, we might actually have a competitive season with 5 drivers in contention each weekend (I say 5, because I'm yet to be convinced by Albon, and Max is going to be incredibly tough to beat).

My biggest fear is that Mercedes plan to leave in 2021, so they've put all their effort into 2020 and dominate even more.
