I can only assume 2 things.

- one of the current drivers is ill and might drop out after friday
- One of the drivers has a personal situation (ie close relative on deathbed) during the weekend and might pull out.

There must be serious doubts for them to have Marcus standby.

Albon and Kvyat will both get the newest spec of Honda engines. As a result, they will start from the back of the grid.
Verstappen might get it in Monza, and face the same penalty there.

He'd be placing that car much higher than Gio this year.

He lost power and was coasting downhill out of Pouhon and the car started up again

Stroll also just lost a part of his engine cover

Albon, Ricciardo, Hulkenberg, Sainz, Stroll and Kvyat are all set to receive post-qualifying grid penalties as a result of taking on new power unit elements.

Could we skip Q1 and Q2 on Saturday, and have a 60 minute qualy with those who actually want to be on the grid?

All strategically placing their power unity penalties to a high-speed track where they can overtake more easily. We might see another penalty fest in Monza too.
