Verstappen is closer to Bottas in points than Bottas is to Hamilton. So much for Bottas 2.0 being a worthy title challenger.

The irony.

Who's the guy who definitely thought the podium was all about him even though he quite clearly wasn't involved in the race?

Yes! The girl is a Kvyat-Piquet - weird to think, I know.

First time two Hondas on the podium since Portugal 1992 (if you count out the Mugen-Hondas at Spa 1998).

Proper race, with officials giving them the chance to have a standing start, in rain, on a circuit with some gravel traps, that what's its all about.

Those conditions and circumstances would be same horrible race in Paul Ricard or Sochi.

Thankfully the stadium section here is small enough to punish drivers going off course in the rain. That was vintage F1, no video game BS.

While nearly taking out a junior team driver. Gasly was all over the place today, dr. Marko must have had it by now as both Albon and Kvyat proved proper racecraft.

Bottas should have kept his head calm, but then again he only made one mistake while Lewis and the team did several. But by the look of his face in Finnish TV interview after the race, I see he's in a bad shape. Either he feels like he lost the championship or the 2020 seat. He was nearly on tears. Not the Bottas 2.0 we saw earlier on this season.

WTF was that, is this F1? Is it back on track?
100/10 race unbelivable from start to finish nailbiting.
And a great win for Max, he did only 1 mistake, but the rest flawless. While other lost their head what to put on cars.
What a great way to celebrate 125 years for Mercedes.....

He had this one mistake, but he was struggling to pass Stroll for several laps.

I honestly can't see Bottas recovering from this. He's had a string of poor weekends after a solid start to the season. And while he's improved from last year, he's gotta be feeling immense pressure now. Not just for the championship but just to retain his Mercedes seat and I just don't see him having the mental resolution to come back from this, it's likely only going to get worse for him.

Most likely both. The arrow was pointing down already and like I mentioned before, Verstappen is closer to him than he is to Hamilton. It's rather obvious he just can't challenge for a title on everyday basis. Might as well see what Ocon has IF they can't lure Verstappen from Red Bull. The fact he was stuck behind Stroll on slicks is downright laughable.

There's a data issue with the Alfas that's been flagged with the stewards. Kubica could have a point here!

I feel a bit sorry for Bottas, he only made one error on a day when many drivers (including Hamilton) made several, but his cost a lot more. Very unlucky

Lewis made way bigger error in T1 and got 360 as a reward. Bottas made only a small mistake and was in the barriers. Leclerc went over the line at 2nd last corner thrice until he met the barriers. And Lewis crashed there during the SC, violated pit entry rules and ruined his race. Yet everyone talks about how Bottas' choked and is out of his seat. :slaphead:
