What lap times is Leclerc doing? Is he matching Mercedes?
He was around 13 seconds ahead of Bottas and now 5 seconds of this gap are gone

It's so weird watching F1 cars on a street course when I'm used to IndyCar. They are technically faster, but they just look so... slow. The rear end never visibly slides coming off the corners, they just look glued to the track and look like they aren't pushing very hard at all.

Edit -- of course Grosjean slides off track right as I say that.

Grosjean's effort not good enough

Well this is the problem, they're not. They're all tyre saving. They don't even have to push to overtake because they can just wait for the 400 mile long straight

And overtaking being so easy means that the cars all sort themselves into order of pace early on and they spread out

I really hate this tyre-saving. Driving at 95% is faster than driving at 100%, but it's not remotely exciting to watch.

You'd hope but Haas seems to like useless, dangerous drivers. They'd probably just replace him with Ferrucci...

This is the point where we pretend any other era of F1 was completely flat out for 2 hours....

It's always been part of the sport, sadly .
