I give it a 7. Not a bad race at all and, as much as I hate to admit it, the point for fastest lap grew on me as they all scrapped over it.

Better than most years. Still not out and out great, but I think the new aero regs helped them at least run CLOSER if it didn't bring the passing

More optimistic for 2019 when they get to tracks they can actually pass at, anyway.

6 from me

7 - some really tried, others didn't and no one crashed

Same. Was glad that the point for fastest lap actually ended up meaning something.

6 from me. Difficult to pass but more action than I was expecting. Just lacked a lead battle.

I was fairly critical of the fastest lap point when it was announced. It actually made things quite fun at the end and encouraged drivers to keep pushing. I admit that I may have been wrong about it.

4. Some interesting battles in the top 5, except for the lead. Packed guys in the middle trying not too hard. Several yawns here.

Perhaps if the race was in a more favourable time around here (it was from 2-4 AM in Brazil) I could have rated it better.

But the closer racing makes me anticipate more the races in other tracks too.

7 - Some fun watching this.

Vettel vs Hamilton strategy, then Hamilton saving his tyres to last. Verstappen spoiling the duel in a good way. Bottas near perfect race.

Some battles. First race of the year... Lots of new drivers / car combination. And it's Melbourne, that's always great.

Shame the solution for this year wasn't more aggresive, as the teams always catch up so fast. I wonder what 2020 or 2021 will be.

Also, amazing sandbagging by Mercedes. A story that begun in testing and ended this sunday.... or not.

Anyway, was pretty awake, and enjoyed this F1 race way more than other past first rounds as this year Nascar is shit and Indy wasn't that special, but mostly Nascar shitshow surely helped.

a 7. I think the race was saved by the director who seemed to find the battles in the midfield and showed them rather than showing the lead car doing its routine.

7. I'm realizing that Bottas winning by literally spanking the field, including Hamilton, played a role in such a high grade. I've never been so happy to see someone win with such a large lead.

Which is exactly the way a race is supposed to be covered. The reason why a lot of races around the world seem dull is because of the broadcast, not the actual racing.

I'd give the race a 7 too. A good season opener.
