With two guys moving to top teams, it is very likely that we will have a new winner in F1 in 2019. It is also very likely that the French speaking world will be happy with that. Will we see the first French victory since Panis in Monaco 96? Or will we see the first Monegasque victory ever?

Pretty sure it will be LeClerc, although Gasly may have a decent chance if Red Bull produce a good car. Both should win at some point soon.

I think Leclerc is the most likely to win next.

Who voted for Stroll?

My gut says LeClerc but I voted Gasly.
Why? Because Ferrari is run by Italians and I can see them shooting themselves in the foot yet again.
At the same time I don't think RBR is run by complete idiots and they wouldnt have gone for Honda if its a complete joke. I actually believe there is good potential that RBR-Honda will be the team to beat in 2019 thus Gasly will win before LeClerc.

But I'm an idiot who should have gone for his gut feeling.

Seeing that Kimi only won once since 2014 while Ferrari did everything for their 'top driver' I'm quite sure they will do everything to make Vettel win instead of Leclerc

It'll take a while until we see a new race winner, unless Gasly put everything right at Monaco or Singapore and grabs a good victory

This is how I see it:

Things will turn out exactly like last year. Ferrari will be the team to beat at the beggining of the season, while Mercedes wins the development race. Vettel will struggle to keep the championship lead after the summer break, meaning that he’ll make a ton of mistakes. In one particular race, with Hamilton not in front for some reason, Vettel will somehow cock out, and Leclerc, who was running a close second, will be there to pick the pieces.

Leclerc hands down, and I do not even expect him to have to wait for a Vettel retirement in order to win.

I dont mind people voting for odd choices but I wish they would defend it instead of voting anonymous.

If this was a betting site I'd have gone for that option (Stroll) to win big. All it takes is a clunky Azerbaijan GP, and Force India is usually quick if not best of the rest at that track. Realistically though, no. Perez would get that one.

Always wary of these ever since Vettel came from nowhere to become winner 101. Leclerc's the obvious choice but wouldn't be surprised if somehow he and Gasly missed out and we end up with Lando or something

Lance Stroll will fluke a win Giancarlo Fisichella style and it'll be used as proof he's the 2nd coming even though his constant amateurism disproves that every other race

Constant amateurism? You must be watching a different F1 to some of us. Stroll gets a hell of a lot of grief for doing little wrong.

Tbk wouldn't be tbk if kals wasn't there to have the opposite opinion of everyone else.

Yes you are absolutely right. TBK wouldn’t be TBK without people with opposing opinions coming together to create a melting pot of discussion, even if it means we never agree.

I agree with kals. Stroll was a wrecking ball when he started in F3 but he cleaned up his act and hasn't done anything much worse than anyone else that I've seen in F1. I know that people (myself included) aren't really fans of rich daddy drivers but there are far worse and more dislikeable people out there.

I disagree with everyone in the world, Stroll should've been much further ahead of his even less worthy team-mate last year.
That bucket of bolts Williams of 2018 probably made it impossible to do anything else, but Sirotkin is another paydriver and Lance should've been kerb-stomping him and he isn't

One freak podium doesn't a good driver make.

But his career will continue as long as daddy keeps buying teams further and further up the grid.

Stroll-bull in 2 years time? Strerrai?? Strcedes? :whistling:

I don’t disagree with anything you say here, although the expection that he should have been miles ahead of his team mate is a stretch as Sirotkin is no slouch and Stroll kept Massa very honest in 2017, yet nothing you say suggests or validates your previous ‘constant amateurism’ comment :p

If the rumours are true and Liberty are looking to offload F1 to someone, maybe Daddy Stroll could put together another consortium and purchase the entire series for Lance?

Yes to this. I’m no fan of Stroll but there have been many pay drivers over the years that showed no talent prior to F1, then little to nothing when they arrived. Stroll has at least won at various levels and impressed people within the paddock.

no problem with daddy buying teams and track time for development, Piquet did this with Nelson Jr and he is a well developed driver but Strulovich should had bought also some team working coaching so his son could stop acting like he's the only driver
