Nice to hear Domenicali didn't have a problem with the Massa/Hamilton battle.

No he didn't. The radio transmissions are delayed. Horner himself said he gave it 2 lap to the end or something.

I know, I know, it's usually just 30 seconds, though.

And I would've thought the director would've been glued to Webber's radio expecting a message like that, and to broadcast it as soon as possible.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I can see why fans would be against the idea of a teammate being told not to overtake his teammate. But really, think about it. How HORRIBLE of an idea is it for RBR to have their teammates fighting each other for position on the final lap and risk taking each other out like the Team Kool Green guys did back in 1998 in CART a billion times? I can't reasonably expect two teammates to fight each other tooth and nail. It's such a terrible idea that I am NOT let down when the team tells them to hold station because it makes so much sense.

Also, I didn't get to actually see any of this since the race is being tape-delayed here in the USA. :yuk:

In public, I bet he will go to the stewards after the interview.

Fair enough, then.

Webber didn't listen, so there's no problem.

I think the major problem is why the order came in the first place.

Mclaren say their drivers can battle and thats occurred for better or worse [Turkey 2010, China 2011, Turkey 2011, Canada 2011]. Red Bull also say one thing but act out another. Why deny Mark the chance? They had a 2-3 finish whatever the order. I'm glad he ignored the order since I don't expect him in an RBR next year.

I mean Vettel doesn't desperately need the extra points. He isn't getting caught.

Maybe Red Bull changed their mind on team orders after they became legal.

Or maybe it's because for the first time since Vettel was promoted there is a clear hierarchy. Webber is clearly the second best this year. So maybe he isn't afforded the chance of battling Vettel.

Brilliant interview by Lewis. Had a disappointing weekend, despite his great efforts and he came out smiling and laughing and joking. The Lewis that I used to like is creeping back. :)

Nice race, but penalties today were way too harsh... DT would've been more appropriate.
Fantastic drive by Fernando, Schumi, Perez, Hamilton - also did a good job.

TO in RBR... big LOL :D

What's annoying about the Team-order is that the TV directors obviously knew about it yet kept cutting away from the ACTUAL racing battle between Massa and Hamilton.

That's the frustration about it, holding position taking preference over a genuine decent battle.

Also Horner giving Webber the undercut suggests Red Bull sees pitstops as the only way for their drivers to overtake not only each other but other cars...
C'mon guys, have some racing balls and let it be sorted out on track.

So, now we have 2 teams that give preferential treatment to one driver. Shame.

During Buttons stop, the lollipop man released him without the RF wheel gun operator having raised his hand. He turned round to fetch the spare gun because he recognised the primary one had failed, and the lolloipop man had released him.

That's the most stupid thing anyone has ever posted in this forum, by quite a long way.

"Come on guys, don't use the free time you can gain! Don't take advantage of strategy!" We've had amazing racing this year and people still moan the teams are smart about pit stops?

Drive throughs under this configuration of pit lane would actually have been quicker than using the corners the pitlane by-passes! :p

Overtake of the season so far is Jenson on Massa though, superb!

Oh look it's the guy who is contrary just for the sake of it judging others....

Go play with Speedworks in the pointlessly argumentative corner...bait someone else.

Horner did clearly say he was using the undercut...they know one of their drivers can't overtake so they have to use the pitlane to cover his blindspot.

Force India claimed that di Resta made an unscheduled stop, and that's why they screwed up and had Sutil tyres.

3 issues with that.

1 - if it was unscheduled then why was the tea waiting for him in the pit lane? Were they having a picnic and Paul just rocked up?
2 - if it was Sutils stop, then why wasn't Sutil parked behind him, wondering why Paul is there? They were only 2 seconds apart on track, there wasn't time to clear Paul before Sutil arrived
3 - they only had to fetch one of Pauls tyres. So if it was actually Sutils tyres then he was about to get 3 of Pauls

In reality, he pitted and they had 1 of Sutils tyres and they are playing the PR game after they fucked up the strategy yet again and ended up with both cars out of the points after they had them 7th and 8th in the race.

And as I type that, Paul is on BBC saying he got the call and pitted and the wrong tyres were there.

They had to do Stop/Go's today because Drive-Thru's woudn't have cost them any time because of the way the pit lane is with it cutting out the final corners & basically taking a short cut on the inside of turn 1.

Its about 20 seconds to do a Drive-Thru in the pit lane & from pit entry to pit exit on the track its also about 20 seconds.
