If I was to recommend a MotoGP to go to, nothing will ever beat Mugello.

I reckon do the Indy 500 Montreal double - albeit a fortnight apart

but the point is to do a crazy exotic trip, and to visit a race when I'm there. I live in Belgium, Italy is not near but I can always go to Mugello for a weekend.
I visited Phillip Island 3 years ago, 5 days after the MotoGP was held there. I would like to plan my trip better now.

PI is good, but access is a nightmare. A single lane bridge connects the Island to the Mainland. And I have heard that the police are extremely stingy.

I would never go to Montreal for F1. F1 drives in my own country so I don't see the point to cross half the globe to see them race at another track when the best track on the calendar is Belgium. I would combine my holiday with a race that can't be seen in near by, like the Indy 500 (which I did 3 times) or a nascar race, or v8 supercars. But that's just my opinion of course

Just bought tickets to the Spanish GP. Will go with 5 friends. 3rd Spanish GP, 4th GP for me.
Looking forward to it!

BTW, can someone please update the thread title?

grandstands or general area?

General area. Better views than the grandstands IMO and the possibility to move around is a great plus.

Second F1 weekend for me coming up. 2013 it was Monza. This time it's Hungaroring! 8)

Anyone else going there?

Heading to Barcelona next month. It will be my first GP visit. :excited:

A question: Do they allow you to take a small video camera to the grandstand? I don't want to take a risk that I will be prohibited from entering the track.

Got a weekend grandstand ticket at the end of the main straight (A), so a great place to see passes and crashes there.

Got no issues with my cameras when I visited the GP in '10 '12 and '13. They just don't like glass bottles and cans :p .

Last year I went with a couple friends and we each brought our cameras with lenses ranging from a "small" 200mm lens to a behemoth 600mm bazooka, and they just don't care.

Get light clothes, a good hat and plenty of sun cream, because at this time of the year the sun is blazing hot and you will have NO shade there.

One of my work collegues was in Mugello last weekend, and last year in Misano on MotoGP.
In 2 months we want to go to Red Bull ring, general admission seems very good.
Anyone has an idea what is the best time to arrive,is it possible to arrive at night or at 5,6 in the morning to take best places near turn2 or turn3?

So, T1 in Hungaroring in just eleven days! 8)

You'll be seeing me waving the Finnish flag with KIMI written on it, and I'll be wearing all red again. Just like Monza 2013. 8)

Nice, enjoy! Been to the Hungaroring before? I was quite disappointed arriving at the track driving 1000 miles and finding out you can't walk around te whole track :slaphead: . Also the thursday autograph/pitwalk session was poorly organised compared to other venues I have been (Spa, Melbourne, Barcelona).

First time at Hungaroring. I've heard it's a good venue. I won't be there on Thursday and walking around the whole track is not a must-do thing for me. In Monza we walked few kilometers every day and the walk-around between historical oval, 1st turn, mainstraight and paddock was enough for us combined with all the walking from taxi to track, to toilets..etc.

Ah, so you will be the one with the Finnish flag? I'm sure we'll spot you :p

Yes, you can't miss me. :p

I believe somewhere in the middle of the T1 stand.

You're Finnish and you got tickets for a seat with no shade from the Sun in Hungary in summer? Damn you've got balls :8:

I did so in Monza too and lived to tell. My secret to protect my ultra pale skin is kids' sunscreen with +50 protection. And balls, of course.

So we went to Spa this weekend for the 10th year in succession and although you should always go to Spa with no expectations of anything being organised whatsoever -which puts in part of the charm of being there- this year shook every boundary of humanity. Tough it was well known ticket sales were going great;

- Parts of the highway were closed because of non-existing roadworks
- No traffic support or whatsoever at the roads around the track unlike other years
- The Turkish-Syrian border like chaos at the entrance
- Massive amount of aggressive Dutch scum-class newfound F1 fans with soccerfan social skills
- Even more agitated Belgians fed up with fore said Dutch scum
- 2.5 hour wait from 6:00 to enter the track :beard:

I decided to make this my last Spa GP until Max Verstappen retires from F1.

On saturday a Belgium dude in his car with women and child even decided to drive into me after he stopped when I was crossing a road. When I told him he should not do such thing he decided to kick my ass, to eventually get back in his car when I calm and politely suggested him to act like a decent human being :slaphead:. My friend showing of a folding shovel might have had some influence on him.

Sunday was the biggest slapstick I have ever encountered there as it took me 8 hours to cover the 240km's home :p . The organisation was a farce as they could have expected bigger crowds, more chances of generating income and keeping them satisfied to return next year. While in traffic home-bound one of my friends found out a woman is managing director of the track. We had a great laugh and suggested we should safe some cash for a helicopter fare next time out :flag: .

Since Suzuka is coming up, I was wondering who has visited the track (not during a race) as I might end up going to Suzuka in mid-December. Like things you could/should do there, etc :)
