Thanks Hedgey. It works for me when I use the same Firefox window but doesn't when I launch it in a new window.

I've had that same problem.

With the current laptimes, Liuzzi is almost 6 tenths off the 107%.

Oh look a car went sideways into the gravel trap without a wheel and was slowed before hitting the barrier without flipping...

So can we please notice this FIA and bring back gravel traps to get rid of Tarmac runoffs now, pleaseeee

I was watching the live timing and thinking they were still miles off but forgot this track's a good bit longer than Melbourne. They might make it, probably going to need some luck in qual. They got Karthikeyan out again at the end which is pretty impressive given how terminal it looked when he blew up.

Considering how little running HRT have with the car compared to everyone else to be within 6 tenths of 107% isn't too bad. If they don't have any problems & get some solid running in I think they will likely qualify with at least 1 car.

They said on the BBC that the talk in the paddock is that the car is a lot better than it has looked so far.

TV broadcast in this first Practice was really shitty, too much image freezing (I think it has something to do with interference in the satellite signal from Malaysia).

About the Petrov and D'Ambrosio accidents, I bet it has something to do with massive tyre wear in Sepang's typical abrasive asphalt, causing tension on the suspension arms and resulting in disruptions and breaks. Remember Raikkonen's accident in Nurburgring/2005, it was similar but in this case caused by exaggerated usage of brakes at some key corners.

BTW Natalie Pinkham (one of BBC's pit reporters) said Petrov was holding an ice pack on his hand when he got back to the pits. Watching the OnBoard it looks like his right hand got knocked pretty hard when the wheel got yanked out his hand.

Narain Karthikeyan was fastest in FP1 - down the pit lane. His 72.5 km/h earned him a 2,600 Euros fine.

It appears d'Ambrosio's right front failure was suspension, and both Renaults suffered brake failure.

@NobleF1 No wonder Narain was so fast in the pitlane. His ass was pretty much on fire.
