MotoGP does most of its testing at Sepang - and this year seemed to have less weather disruption than F1 in Spain.

The other option brought about by what MotoGP does is Austin ... I imagine Texas to have pretty stable weather conditions throughout the winter, and it would be a great way to help break F1 to the US audience a bit more, give them cheap practice sessions to go to at a time when there's little or no major domestic series running. Teams can do publicity there, and it might help bring in more US sponsors if they can get a few extra days with the cars in the country doing stuff. It's a Tilke track so it has heavy braking, straights of a typical length as well as typical features now shared by nearly half the calendar, and unlike other Tilke tracks a good mix of corners and elevation changes. Texas also isn't an area of conflict. (Genuinely thinks he may have had a good idea.)

I don't remember those problems - maybe they were because of the new asphalt curing? That's caused problems at other new circuits made on short deadlines/long deadlines but made with delays ...

Monza I think has noise regulation issues.

It does. I remember there were people going to court a few years back to get it tightened further.

Portimão is always a good testing track

It is the best solution, imo. It's just a bit more North than Jerez, the weather is similar in the winter and the track is brand new, not very used and the drivers love it.

Sadly, we probably can't afford to host them.

Plus it has 32 different layouts.

Unfortunately all 32 layouts appear to produce the same result, 2nd and 3rd gear corners.
