Heading to Monaco GP next year, anyone got any recommendations or thoughts on what tickets to get? Doing it as part of a cruise, think will only be going for race day.

Yes... Friday only. Can you bring your own beer or is that not allowed?

Haha... Great! Is there going to be some sort of TBK meeting? And about bringing your own beer... Are they very strict at it?

I don't know about a meeting, not sure how many members are coming. I know nea is going together with Glorfindel.

Well unfortunately due to a family emergency (my Dad suffered a heart attack this weekend) I won't be going to Monza this year :( Fortunately he is stable and recovering. Monza will always be there next year.

I'll be there, so even less of a reason for a meet up.

Due to a last minute decision, I will also be in Spa this weekend - Friday to Sunday.

I blame Fabs for the bad weather

Just booked flights and tickets for the US GP. Will be based in Houston, which is a 2 hour drive to the track. Far cheaper to do that than fly and stay in or around Austin, which is an expensive on a normal day.

I'm thinking of going on a holiday and trying to combine that with a visit to F1 or MotoGP. But as it is far away and sort of a one time opportunity, I would like to know the best options so that I don't arrive and think "dammit, I should have done something else".

I like to take pics but my cam is pretty basic, so I'd hate to sit too far away or behind big fences.

Is general admission ok, or do you need a grandstand? If yes, which is the best? I am spoiled with Francorchamps where general admission allows you to walk around the entire track, not every circuit offers this.

The things I'm thinking of are:
2016 Canadian GP F1
2015 Australian MotoGP Phillip Island

If I was to recommend a MotoGP to go to, nothing will ever beat Mugello.

I reckon do the Indy 500 Montreal double - albeit a fortnight apart

Montreal is an amazing city which throws itself open to the race across the weekend. It's one place which embraces Formula 1 rather than seeing it as an inconvenience. Rue Crescent is rammed with places and they close the streets off for F1 parties basically, or you've got Vieux Montreal which is also pretty cool.

In terms of spectating your options will probably either be the T1-2 grandstands (from where you can see the pit straight, T1-2 and perhaps up towards 3, or down at the hairpin. Obviously walking around isn't the simplest as it's a circuit located on an island. I don't think there's any grass banks like at Spa - it's all grandstands.
