Lotus with Grosjean and Maldonado, that would be something to watch out for.

Are you kidding me ? Coke kicks Pepsi's ass :p I get pissed off when I order a Coke and they bring me Pepsi coz they don't have any Coke :D

What makes you think he isn't?

I personally think neither one is faster than the other.

But anyway, considering you were the one who made the comment originally you should be prepared to back up it. Don't you think?

Absolutely, but I wasn't saying Alonso would be quicker (I did say I would put my money on him, only if I had to), all I did was question why there are so many comments on the internet about Kimi demolishing Fernando.

And I still don't understand it, are people still underrating Alonso?

The arrival of Kimi will give Fernando a greater challenge, undoubtedly. But I'd rate Fernando as the faster of the two. It'll be a fascinating dynamic but my money would be on Fernando, especially as he has been with the team since 2010.

After his attitude in 2007 (albeit partly started by McLaren) and some other dubious comments (see: 2012), Fernando will do well to try and avoid the political game too much.

You and I totally agree on this. And I actually owe you an apology Mika Kimi.

My original comment was in response to this...

For some reason I thought this was from you, which was obviously wrong

Well, I'm really looking forward to next year with the regulation changes and drivers moving to other teams.

They'll try anything to stop Vettel winning more titles, I'm surprised they haven't already introduced the idea of letting Seb begin the championship with a 50 point deficit to make it more exciting

Ferrari saying Kimi is jumping with enthusiasm to drive for Ferrari again, I can see the mental picture before me...

Alonso lost the title to Kimi in 2007 by one measely point and Kimi got booted out and his contract torn up to make way for Nando in 2010. See how well they're gonna get along now the best teamplayer of the field left the Scuderia. And we all know how much Nando loves competitive teammates...

Biggest contradiction since water and fire, those two. One is more emotional than a woman during PMS, with the other one we're glad he has at least one facial expression. Both of them are gonna cost at least 30 million euros each, try building a decent racing car with the rest of the budget.

If Ferrari recruited Newey, only then the competition should start shakin' in their boots. For now, I'm not really worried ;)

Hope he'll try to avoid the mindgames as well, they're only fun if you're actually good at it.

That failed Phoenix/DART/ex Prost team in 2002 has Mazzacane and Marques but that's not as bad as Sauber's potential line-up

I think Gutierrez is better than he's being able to show and I'll happily give him the benefit of the doubt until 2014. Afterall, only some real heroics from Hulk is getting the odd point here and there. I doubt Koba or Perez would have done more. The Sauber is a bad car, and we know some rookies / sophomores don't have the relevant experience to deal with or improve bad cars. Jenson in 2001 prime example.

Alonso and Raikkonen should elevate Ferrari because you have two guys who will put a lot of pressure on the technical side to get results. There can't be infighting when the team is too poor to win consistently. Both guys know what they're stepping into as well, so there is the hope that they can play nicely, at least until the team is back on "proper" form

I think good old lady luck will determine who will be better between Raikkonen and Alonso. I think with their respected talents that they are pretty much equal. I would say that with the car operating within a certain window of performance that Kimi can be untouchable (See 2005), but I see Alonso as the more complete all rounder (well apart from qualifying these days). So I see them cancelling themselves out and luck determining who comes out ontop.

They both have a knack of putting a rubbish car in winning or podium positions. Alonso in my eyes is still the better driver but Raikkonen is not far off. Next year has a feel of 2010 for excitement and anticipation. Hopefully its a close season.

I'm not convinced by the suggestion that we will see a repeat of 2007 with regards to Alonso's attitude to a competitive team mate. 2 reasons, firstly 6 years have passed. People change, I believe Alonso has from what I see on race day. Secondly he knows exactly what to expect from kimi, Lewis would have been a bit of a surprise at the time.
A more mature, prepared Alonso will be fine with kimi.
It's going to be a good thing, but if they don't secure the constructors title with that line up I imagine there will be hell to pay.

As for massa, I hope he gets the sauber seat. If they are taking on a teenager they definitely need a calm experienced driver in there. He would be perfect.
I hope sauber don't take on the Russian, I'd rather see guitierez get another shot, or valsechi, or sam bird.

I don't see anything to suggest Alonso is more mature though. His continually bad mouthing of the team says otherwise.

Is that maturity or expectation? Sure sometimes maybe he shouldn't be moaning at the team over the radio, but he is hardly alone there is he?
I can only comment on what I have seen, I probably don't follow things as closely as folk here. But he has gone from annoying me to impressing me over the past 6 years (my viewing history) through they way he drives and behaves on the track.

He's calling the team idiots and dumb. That's completely the opposite of mature and it's certainly not simply pressuring the team to improving.
