This? Doesn't look that bad to me.

I love it. I would love to be able to see the wind tunnel data on that thing and the loads it generates. The overall package itself is still a shitbox but that's a super fascinating front wing.

Well judging by Gutierrez's latest comments perhaps all is not well in the team. Though to be honest I've always thought he was pretty average. After their great start Hass are going trough their teething problems. .

Gutierrez has never even been average. I do not know why Ferrari foistered him onto Haas and not Vergne.

Although judging by his agitation it might be a mistake that they are about to rectify.

They've done a better job than BAR did in 1999. That team said they would win their first race

Did they really, lol?

Guttierez... Never been a fan, and anti- since reading that article. Hope he gets axed and replaced by Vergne.

Did he not base that claim off the fact that Reynard had won there 1st race in every category they had entered previously.

TBH I don't think the car was that bad at the start of the year, Villeneuve showed some good speed in it & Salo came relatively close to grabbing a point while subbing for Zonta at Imola. There biggest problem was horrendous unreliability so they spent most of there time trying to fix that rather than developing the car & then just seemed to give up to focus on 2000 so any early promise just evaporated.

Wasn't Villeneuve in the mix for a podium (or a 4th-5th) in the first race in Melbourne before his wing failed?

Oh the good old days of unreliability, how I miss you...but if the current crop of fans/journalists posting crap on Twitter were around back then the shouts of conspiracy would be maddening. How did Ted Kravitz survive that era????

I think in fact he ran 3rd in this very Grand Prix for a brief time after the start in 1999.
That colourscheme was interesting.

Indeed until they had to rip off some rearwing gurney during his first stop and boiled the clutch. In Melbourne he for sure wasn't in the mix for a podium but after the huge amount of retirements a 4th or 5th would have been possible before the rearwing fell off.

I really loved that season :drunk: !

He was at 8th position when his wing failed at lap 13. He was 7th after the 1st lap.
Maybe he could have been 5th in the race. Don't know the strategy ofcourse.
