With a testing ban? Sure....

The only person who could make it interesting is Rosberg and no one else. Perhaps that Vettel will be in the mix a few GP's, but that's about it. Perhaps that the ultra soft tyre can make a few races interesting.

at least Ferrari excels on tire wear, while Mercedes is a bit behind. on tracks where tire management is crucial Vettel can play a trick to win

If you can tell that from a handful of hard to read testing days, you deserve a job in F1 punditry.

I guess most of us here knows more about what's going on the track than some of the actual commentators

Indeed. And just like with your weather predictions, if you throw enough mud then some will stick.

Report from the track: the sound is still terrible, no forms of ear protection needed. The sound of the Honda engines is even worse, especially when downshifting or in low revs.

Other than that, Mercedes can afford to cruise already, I haven't seen much of Haas or Manor, but the circuit is fantastic for spectators.

Did you experience the noise of the engines at a race track in 2014 or 2015? I'm interested to get your perspective on the changes compared to what you heard today.

From what I've read, reporters are saying the cars are clearly louder and people in the pitlane are now protecting their ears when a car passes by.

I didn't, so I can't compare. Last experience was 2012.

Meanwhile, McLaren find themselves third again on the early timesheet as Jenson Button goes to 1:26.833 on the medium times. We only get certain speed trap data, but the McLaren as been clocking around 178kph down the main straight here. The fastest we have seen in these two weeks is in the high 180s.

Only testing of course, but around 10 kph down on the fastest cars would be an improvement compared to last year.

One thing that does seem certain is that the Honda engine is still not powerful enough on the straights. They could be about 10 kph slower than the better speeds.

Yes this will be a very interesting year to see how the feud between both Mercedes drivers will continue with both Hamilton and Rosberg eager take the crown in 2016.

The blue Flow-Viz looks good on the Williams front wing, they should make their black parts of the car blue looks really nice.
